How to Get Ink Out of the Wash

Fresh Watercolor Pen and Washable Ink Stains

Step 1

Start your washer using the warmest water that is safe for the fabric.

Step 2

Add soap-free detergent to the washer. Read the product label to ensure the detergent contains no soap.

Step 3

Put your stained laundry into the washer after water entry is complete. Run the washer through its wash, rinse and spin cycles.

Step 4

Examine each item. Repeat laundering steps for any items that are still stained. Do not put stained items into a dryer.
