Homemade Dry Skin Mask

Sugary Oil Scrub

Oils get a bad reputation when it comes to skin care, but seriously parched skin can benefit from the intense moisture oils can provide. Mix 1 tbsp. pure vitamin E oil, 1 tbsp. flax seed oil and 1 tsp. granulated brown sugar. Apply the mixture to dry skin and massage with your fingers to exfoliate flakes and rough patches. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and wash your face with your usual cleanser.

Aloe and Egg Mask

Aloe vera is a natural skin soother that can help soften dry skin, and the protein in eggs can boost skin's elasticity and brightness. Whisk together one large egg with 2 tbsp. pure aloe vera gel. Apply the mixture to your face with your fingers and let it dry for 10 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry with a cotton towel.

Guacamole Mask

Avocados and limes are two of the main ingredients in guacamole, but these two fruits can cure the flakes and patches that come with super-dry skin. Cut an avocado in half and scoop the fruit into a bowl. Mash the avocado with a fork until creamy and add 1 tbsp. lime juice. Apply the mask to dry skin and kick back for 20 minutes to let it soak in. Rinse with warm water.

Creamy Mint Facial

Mint leaves create a cool tingle and can help stimulate skin cell turnover, while creamy ingredients like buttermilk wrap your skin in moisture. Finely chop 2 tbsp. fresh mint leaves and mix into 2 tbsp. buttermilk and 2 tbsp. heavy whipping cream. Apply this mask in the shower or over the sink — it can be sloppy. Massage the mask into your skin and let it sit for 10 minutes, then rinse with cool water.
