What Happened? The Hole singer and former Mrs. Kurt Cobain has recently been seen out in public with her 22-year-old daughter, but Courtney's admission that she did heroin while pregnant with Frances can't be good for their tenuous relationship. That's because Love lost custody of then-17-year-old Frances, and two guardians were appointed. Prior to that, Love lost temporary custody of her daughter after Love attempted to break into an ex-boyfriend's house.
Billy Ray Cyrus

What Happened? Even with Miley all grown up and no longer as innocent as her "Hannah Montana" character was, dad Billy Ray hasn't pulled any punches.
"The damn show destroyed my family," he told GQ Magazine. "I'd take it back in a second. For my family to be here and just everybody be OK, safe and sound and happy and normal would have been fantastic. Heck, yeah. I'd erase it all in a second if I could."
Billy Ray then went on to express concern for his daughter's well-being. But all seems to be well in the Cyrus household. Billy Ray even defended Miley's then-boyfriend Patrick Schwarzenneger when he was accused of cheating.

But considering Ryan's admission to Vanity Fair that he once hit on his own daughter when he didn't recognize her, the chances of the O'Neals ever becoming one big happy family is pretty slim.

What Happened? According to Jolie, she and father Jon Voight grew up fighting, causing her to eventually cut ties with him. In 2001, Voight gave a tearful interview to "Access Hollywood," claiming Jolie had "mental problems." Years later, the pair reconciled when Jolie was pregnant with twins Knox and Vivienne.
But when Jolie married actor Brad Pitt, Voight was not invited.
Nicole Kidman

What Happened? When Nicole Kidman divorced actor Tom Cruise after 10 years of marriage, their adopted children, Connor and Isabella, were forced to take sides. But as the kids have gotten older, their relationship with their mom has apparently gotten better, with Connor saying, "I'll always love my mum." Who wouldn't?

What Happened? In 2003, then 14-year-old Daisy Lowe, daughter of British personality Pearl Lowe, requested a DNA test from her then-godfather Gavin Rossdale. The test revealed that Pearl's best buddy rocker was actually Daisy's dad. Rossdale vowed never to speak to Pearl again.
Slowly but surely, he and Daisy, now a 25-year-old model living in London, have worked on building a relationship.

What Happened? In one of the messiest divorce cases in recent history, "The View" co-host Sherri Shephard filed for divorce from husband Lamar Sally, leaving him custody of their unborn child (now 8 months old born via surrogate).
Shephard claimed she wasn't actually the legal mother of the child, but a judge ruled otherwise and required Shephard to sign the child's birth certificate.
Martin Sheen

What Happened? The former "Two and a Half Men" star's erratic behavior has been well-documented publicly. In what might be the best reminder to never have a fight via text message, the rap star (aka Curtis Jackson) hurled a string of obscenities at his then-16-year-old son (mom is "Starter Wives" star Shaniqua Tomkins) after Marquise failed to open the front door for his dad. After calling his son names and cursing at him, 50 Cent ended the rant by saying, "I will have nothing to do with you. Don't text me ever again." Ouch.
