How to Clean Toxic Mold

Cleaning Countertops, Plastic and Metal Items.

Step 1

Create a solution of 1 gallon of warm water, 1 cup of bleach and ¼ cup of a mild dish-washing liquid. Mix the contents thoroughly.

Step 2

Fill a clean spray bottle with the solution.

Step 3

Spray countertops, plastic and metal items with the solution. Allow to sit for 10 minutes.

Step 4

Wipe the solution from the items with a damp cloth.

Cleaning Tile Flooring

Step 1

Create a solution of 1 gallon of warm water and 1 cup of bleach. Mix thoroughly.

Step 2

Submerge a mop in the solution and wring out excess liquid.

Step 3

Wash tiles with the mop. For sponge mops, scrub in a straight line. If using a rag mop, twist the mop head in a figure-eight shape and scrub in a back and forth motion.

Cleaning Wood

Step 1

Mix 1 gallon of water and 1 ½ cup of bleach. Pour mixture into a clean spray bottle.

Step 2

Spray molded wood with the mixture. Use a stiff brush to scrub into the wood and allow to dry.

Step 3

Pour 1 gallon of cool water in another 5-gallon bucket and add a few drops of a mild dish-washing liquid.

Step 4

Saturate a clean cloth. Wipe wood with the cloth and allow to dry.
