Instructions
Step 1
Shake off excess crumbs from the bread board into the garbage or sink.
Step 2
Scrub the bread board with soapy hot water, but do not submerge it in the sink. Use a sponge or scrubbing cloth and rinse it under running water. If the wood absorbs too much water, it can crack as it dries.
Step 3
Spray the board with white vinegar and wipe it down with a paper towel. Do not dilute the vinegar, which can disinfect against E.coli and salmonella.
Step 4
Wipe the bread board with hydrogen peroxide after you've wiped it with the vinegar. Use a 3 percent solution of hydrogen peroxide.
Step 5
Cover the surface of the bread board with a diluted bleach mixture if you are still worried about the cleanliness. Allow the bleach to sit for about five minutes before rinsing it off. Allow the board to air dry or dry it with a paper towel.
