The holiday season brings to mind time spent with family and friends, and making memories, both funny and heartwarming.
Actress and mom of one Haylie Duff agrees.
"The holidays are a really special time for my family and me," Duff, who has a 1-year-old daughter, tells Mom.me.
That's why Duff has partnered with T.J Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods to make the holidays special in a campaign called "Bring Back the Holidays." The retailers will be sending 10 lucky people home for the holidays.
During the campaign kickoff, we chatted with Duff about the holidays and ways moms can make it stress free.
How has being a mother made the holidays more special?
It’s a time to drop all of the distractions around us so that we can cherish moments spent together, which have become even more precious to me now that I have a daughter. My hope is that by sharing some of my favorite family traditions and ways in which we connect during the holidays, we can inspire others to do the same.
Are there any traditions you have passed on to your daughter? Or are you starting new traditions?
All of my best holiday memories growing up, and still today, are centered around time spent together. My family loves to snuggle up and watch holiday movies together.
You seem like a natural host and cook. What’s your advice for easy decorating during the holidays?
A holiday-themed centerpiece is an excellent way to dress your table for the holidays because it serves as a focal point for your meal. It can be a simple display of gold and silver candles, or something more elaborate involving garland, ornaments, florals, and even fruits and vegetables.
What’s your tried-and-true holiday dish that any busy mom can make?
Chorizo and Carrot Stuffed Tenderloin!
