Here Are the Winners of Mom.com’s First Annual 4th Trimester Must-Have Awards

At Mom.com, we are all about supporting mothers on their pregnancy journey, including the weeks after you give birth, which, let's face it, can sometimes be the most challenging part of all. The first six weeks after giving birth, also known as the 4th Trimester, are filled with tons of ups and downs, hormone fluctuations, body changes, and oh yeah — a new baby.

For the first annual 4th Trimester Must-Have Awards, we wanted to highlight the products that moms love and rely on during this time. We asked Mom.com readers to vote on products in 18 different categories. We collected over 6,000 votes on things like favorite nursing bra, postpartum underwear, lactation treats, and more. The result: a curated list of products to help you during your 4th Trimester.

Here are the winners of the 2023 Mom.com 4th Trimester Must-Have Awards.

Favorite Breast Pump Brand: Motif

Amazon

Review: "I actually saw this pump for the first time on a celebrity’s Instagram story. It was not an #ad just a quick mention of the pumps she used on set. She said she loved the strong suction of the Luna. I was curious and came here to read reviews. Clearly, she wasn’t the only one.

This pump is legit. It’s quiet, easy to use, and very very strong. The more milk in less time thing is not just buzzwords, it’s a threat. Are you ready to get more of your life back? Are you ready to have milk flood that collection bottle? Well buckle up buttercup because it’s coming your way."

Review: "I bought my pump a month ago and have been using it daily (I mix feed). What can I say? It's a life changer! I did not use other pumps so have nothing to compare it with but from what my friends told me nothing stays even close enough to Elvie. It looks great, it's easy to use and it makes a new mum's
life more mobile."

Favorite Nipple Cream: Lansinoh Lanolin Nipple Cream

Review: "I love this product it’s a total life saver! My nips were already getting cracked and bleeding from all the pumping and breastfeeding! I was in pain every time I’ll feed my baby but luckily I order these little baby ones because you can have one in your purse, at home, in your diaper bag since I lost my big one and let me just say that as soon as I put it on I felt an instant relief and it honestly feels like a numbing cream because it didn’t hurt to feed my baby anymore and now my nips are healed"

Review: "I’ve always struggled with my milk supply and have had to supplement with formula from the beginning. I’m a first time Mom. I’ve been drinking tea, taking supplements, but these really worked. I also really like the taste, but have only tried the oatmeal and chocolate. I would definitely recommend!"

Favorite Nursing/Pumping Bra: Motherhood Maternity Pumping and Nursing Bra

Motherhood

Review: "These are my favorite nursing bras. Great during 3rd trimester when you don’t want to wear underwire anymore and comfortable to sleep in postpartum when your milk comes in. I have 5 babies and these are always my go to bra!"

Favorite Lactation Massager: LaVie The Original Lactation Massager

Review: "Okay so I have always heard about these lactation stimulators and I was skeptical. But after recent experiences of clogged ducts and complete desperation, I caved in and decided to give them a try. Guess what? This bad boy is no joke. It really does the trick. My ducts were unclogged in no time and I had relief again. There are many vibration options and I did notice a little warming sensation as well. But with just the vibration and occasional hand compressions to massage breast of any, you will still get the relief you need. All in all it's a must have and I am glad I finally got one."

Favorite Nursing Pads: Lansinoh Stay Dry Disposable Nursing Pads

Review: "These have been the only nursing pads I've tried but it would honestly be hard to try anything else bc of how great they are! The absorbency is great! I have had quite a bit of leaking throughout my breastfeeding journey and I always feel confident when wearing these, as I've never leaked through them. They are soft for sore nipples and the adhesive holds up pretty well. I have placed these in my bra as well as strapless bandeau bras."

Review: "I really love this versatile milk snob cover. I use it in public to breastfeed my son and at the beach to stop the the wind from hitting his face. The fabric is so stretchy, soft and breathable my son don’t mind been under it for a long period of time. When my husband and I go shopping we love that it covers the whole car seat from light and stranger from hovering all over him. I use this cover everyday and everywhere I go. I love that it give my son privacy."

Review: "I had bought this in the past after having my second child to use during postpartum and I fell in love with them and still use them till this day but now for my menstrual cycle on heavy days. They are very comfortable and there’s no leak during the day or throughout the night. It does have a little bit of fragrance to it but it smells good to me."

Review: "I loved these for postpartum. They helped things feel a little less sore and are big enough to catch everything. Will definitely be buying these again for after my next baby."

Favorite Belly Band: Belly Bandit Original Belly Wrap

Belly Bandit

Review: "Loved this! I did not start wearing mine until about 4 weeks postpartum and it has really worked to slim my stomach down. I wish I had taken before/after pics to show the difference in just a short amount of time. The only thing I recommend is if you are planning on wearing this straight out of the hospital, I would order the extender to go with it, because I almost couldn't get it to Velcro together the first time I wore it and I know I wouldn't have that early on. I would recommend this to any mom's to wear pp."

Favorite High Waisted Leggings: Lululemon Align Pants

Lululemon

Review: "The high waist band is wonderful, I love these pants I have been using them through out my pregnancy. I started out with a size 10 for the first and second trimester and I just jumped to size 14 for the last trimesters and they stay up all day and are really cozy."

Review: "I got this robe to use when I am nursing and will be walking around the house in a bra most of the time, so I am looking forward to using this lightweight soft robe. I have used it a few times since ordering it and already love."

Favorite Prenatal Vitamins: One a Day® Women’s Prenatal 1

Review: "After trying a number of prenatal this one is hands down my favorite. It has DHA but doesn't leave that weird fish oil taste or sour stomach that some others were giving me. Even other versions by the same brand made my nausea worse, but the purple capsules have everything I was looking for and i was able to take through my pregnancy and breast feeding, regardless of stomach upsets."

Favorite Hair/Scalp Serum: Ouai Scalp Serum

ouai_scalp-1.png
Sephora

Review: "Smells amazing, hydrates my scalp, and after a few months of use I am starting to notice the baby hairs coming in all over my head! My hair looks and feels thicker. I use it 3 times a week on clean, wet hair & massage in with a shampoo brush."

Favorite Diaper Bag: Petunia Pickle Bottom

petunia_pickle_bottom-1.png

Review: "Beautiful, functional bag. Love all the storage including the open pockets which make it easy to stuff wipes, burp cloths, etc., but secure enough so items don’t fall out. The hand sanitizer pouch is a nice added touch."
