Mega Playdate with Nick Jr. and Mom.me

I was compensated for attending this event sponsored by Nick Jr. and Mom.me. The thoughts and opinions below are my own.

On Sunday, November 6th we were invited to the Ultimate Mega Playdate with Nick Jr. and Mom.me. My wife gathered us all together to celebrate the new Shimmer and Shine and Blaze and the Monster Machines products.

Every morning I wake up with my kids, the first thing we do is go downstairs to prepare breakfast. While I'm making eggs or pancakes or waffles or whatever the kids want I let them enjoy some cartoons in the den. A couple of their favorites are on Nick Jr – they love Shimmer and Shine and Blaze and the Monster Machines.

After we finish breakfast together, quite often I'll sit with them and cuddle in front of the TV before we have to get ready for school. It's amazing how advanced cartoons have become since I was little. Today's kids have so many options. We make sure our children only watch things that are positive and uplifting and educational when possible. I'm not going to lie, I really like Blaze and the Monster Machines – of course that's the eight-year-old boy inside of me speaking. And I also like Shimmer and Shine, I mean who doesn't love a good genie cartoon? The possibilities are endless and those two little genies have fantastic adventures.

I was so excited to take my kids to the Nick Jr. Event showcasing Shimmer and Shine and Blaze and the Monster Machines. I loved watching Penna riding around with Blaze and playing with Blaze on the Speedway. We even made some Blaze crafts together including our own license plates. (No they didn't say I8A4RE)

I have to admit as much as I was looking forward to seeing the girls play with the Blaze and Monster Machine toys I was equally happy to participate with them by playing with the Shimmer and Shine toys. The technology behind these toys is so advanced that it really furthers a child's creativity. My favorite toy from the event is the Shimmer and Shine Magic Flying Carpet. Now I have that magic carpet flying all around my house with those two genies and my 2 princesses following me. So, the fun didn't end when we left the event.

Every stage of a child’s development has its own set of challenges as well as achievements. My girls are in that spot where I can help them dream big, set goals and make plans to achieve them—all with the help of the magical world of Blaze and the Monster Machines and Shimmer and Shine.
