Teaching Kids Mindfulness With the Stop, Breathe and Think Kids App

On Saturday May 6th, Rabbit Ladders at The Platform in Culver City held a fantastic event for Stop, Breathe and Think Kids. Stop, Breathe and Think Kids is a brand new app designed for kids due to the success of the adult version of Stop, Breathe and Think, an award- winning mindfulness and meditation app that is simple and easy to use.

The Stop, Breathe and Think Kids app is geared for children 5-1o years of age. Ali Larter helped to launch the app on Saturday. Ali is a huge advocate of teaching kids mindfulness and calming techniques. She has been using yoga for ever 20 years to calm her mind and practice deep breathing techniques. As a mom now, she wants to give her children tools to emotional success in life. What she loves about this app is that it is a good way to integrate how captive technology can be for kids and turn it into a learning moment. Depending on what emotion your child is feeling, the app goes through offers different mindful techniques. One of my favorite techniques is the 5 finger breathing. Children need tools to calm themselves down and this app is a good option for teaching them that. The app was created with input from Susan Kaiser Greenland, author of Mindful Games.

The event was filled with mindful family fun. Kids enjoyed making Mindful Glitter Jars and Therapeutic Coloring. Great food, drinks and fun were had by all.
