Tori Spelling Reveals She And Ex Dean McDermott Made A Meal Of Her Placenta

Tori Spelling is a proud mother of five. She shares Liam, Stella, Hattie, Finn, and Beau with ex-husband Dean McDermott. On the June 27, 2024, episode of her podcast "misSPELLING," she opened up about what she did with the placentas from their births.

Two of them are in her own freezer, but she's not exactly sure which children those two are from. The placenta from her youngest, Beau, is actually being stored at her best friend's house. Dean made another one into a meal that he and Tori ate. According to Tori, it was pretty tasty.

The subject came up because a fan asked what unexpected item was in Tori's freezer. "That would that'd be my placenta," Tori confessed. She went on to explain that keeping them was actually beneficial. "This is normal," she went on to say. "Because there's all that fancy stuff … they say it's good luck to eat it, or it's good luck to bury it, or it's good luck to, you know, have it sent and made into that powder and they put into pills and I'm just too lazy to send it out."

Tori is grateful to her friend for storing Beau's placenta. She promises to take it back someday. "I'm really sorry to my best friend, Jess, because [Beau's] is still in her freezer. You want to talk good friends?" Tori explained. "She came to the hospital the day Beau was born… But because I had a C-section and we had complications and Beau had something [where] we had to stay in the hospital for a bit. I said, 'Jess, can you take the placenta home, because they've given it to me and I don't know what to do with it?' So she, like a proper best friend, did take it home."

Tori did do something with one of the placentas. She and Dean ate it, which is suppose to be good for you. "One time… my ex — I was on board — we cooked the placenta and ate it," she explained. "People do it all the time, and Dean's an amazing chef, so I mean… He cooked it and seasoned it, and it was actually really good."

Tori doesn't have any qualms about keeping or eating her placenta. "It's supposed to be good. It's something that's good for your body, and they take it out of your body, and it's good to put it back in your body," she explained.

She also makes no apologies for forgetting which births the placentas in her freezer are from or possibly misplacing some. "The ones in my freezer currently, I don't know. We move a lot, so unfortunately a couple got lost," she explained. "Imagine that, you guys, they got lost or left at a rental. Imagine someone, opens up a freezer, and it's Tori Spelling's placenta. That would be interesting to put on eBay."
