Rebel Wilson Reveals She’s Gained Some New-Mom Weight Already

They say having a baby changes you, and Rebel Wilson is currently experiencing those changes first-hand now that she's welcomed her daughter into the world. Rebel's little girl arrived via surrogate last year, but the new mom says she's still experiencing some of those telltale signs of parenthood, including weight gain!

The new mom stunned fans when she revealed her major transformation in 2020, which she called her "year of health" at the time. She dropped over 70 pounds while working on diet and lifestyle changes.

Now she reveals that she's gained at least a bit of that weight back after welcoming her daughter.

It's a story many new parents can relate to

"I did gain weight once I had my baby, because although I didn't give birth to her and I didn't need to lose any baby weight, I had just gained weight from the lack of sleep and from the change in my lifestyle," she told the outlet earlier this month.

That lack of sleep can really do a number on you!

She's also spending her free time doing other things these days

Babies sure can keep you busy! Between diaper changes, doctor's appointments, and all that tummy time, it can be hard to squeeze in a workout session, which is something Rebel says also contributed to her weight gain.

"For instance, now I can't go to the gym as often as I used to," she continued. "I'm just not working out as much, so that has slowed me down."

A lack of a goal may also be setting her back

When she first set her sights on her weight loss plan, Rebel wanted to lose 75 pounds. Now, without that goal enticing her to make different choices when it comes to what she eats and how she behaves, she has found that it's not as easy to keep the weight off.

Fortunately, that doesn't seem to be bothering her too much.

The new mama doesn't think she's going to gain all her weight back though

"When I wasn't watching my weight, I would sit down and eat a pint of Ben and Jerry's sometimes, it's just what I did — it was a habit — but now I'm much more careful. I will have, like, a third of a pint, and I'll eat it slowly, I won't eat the whole pint at all," she continued. "That's in my past."

Not only has Rebel's relationship with food changed, it sounds like she also has another reason for staying as healthy as possible: her daughter, Roycie.

Good job, Rebel! You're setting a good example for your little girl.
