It may have been a historic weekend for King Charles III, but all eyes were on Prince Louis. Everyone's favorite energetic little royal ended up being the star of the show on Saturday when he attended the crowning of his grandfather, making his absence from Sunday's coronation concert that much more obvious. We really missed seeing him at the musical event!

The concert took place on Sunday at Windsor Castle

While Princess Kate, Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte were all spotted enjoying the coronation concert, fans couldn't help but notice that Louis was missing. Although People speculates that this was likely a planned absence, royal watchers couldn't help but feel bummed that the always entertaining 5-year-old was stuck at home on Sunday.
The concert lineup was an impressive one
Performers including Take That, Olly Murs, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie came together to get the party started after the United Kingdom crowned its first new monarch in more than seven decades. By all accounts, the musicians brought down the house, and it was a very fitting way to celebrate the new king.
Louis likely needed his rest after all of Saturday's excitement

The concert was expected to last between two and three hours, according to Time Out. With an 8 p.m. start time, that would have made for a very long day for Louis, who was likely still recovering from all of the excitement of watching his grandfather's lengthy crowning ceremony.
William and Kate probably didn't want to push their luck either
As veteran parents know, you really can have too much of a good thing, and two days of straight celebrations may have just been too much for Louis. Not to mention the fact that the very expressive young prince becomes a meme pretty much anytime he attends a public event, so it's likely that his parents wanted to avoid a repeat of the last time Louis took the internet by storm.

Hopefully Louis called it an early night so he was ready for school on Monday morning

If anyone had a good excuse to skip school on Monday, however, it was the royal children. We hope everyone got a good night's sleep last night so that they could get back to business as usual as the new week kicks off.
That being said, we can't even begin to imagine how tired all of the royals are after such a busy weekend in the spotlight. Hopefully William and Kate have enough coffee to get through the day!
