NBA Player Leaves Mid-Game to Witness His Baby Girl Being Born

Minnesota Timberwolves player Anthony Edwards surprised everyone when he left in the middle of his team's game against the Sacramento Kings last Friday. But he had a good reason: his girlfriend, influencer Jeanine Robel, was giving birth to the couple's first child together.

"Anthony Edwards (Personal Reasons) is OUT for the remainder of tonight's game," the Timberwolves tweeted during the game.

Allen Stiles, broadcaster for the Kings, reported that per the Kings broadcast, Edwards had left because his baby was on the way.

It's hard to tell if the baby arrived early, but Edwards and Robel recently shared a glimpse of their baby shower at the end of February. Robel posted a video to Instagram of the lavish party that was attended by family and members of the Timberwolves as well. "Baby A.J.E is otw … ✨ ," Robel captioned the post.

While neither Edwards or Robel has officially posted any sort of announcement, based on Robel's social media posts, it looks like she has safely arrived. In her Instagram stories, Robel reposted a picture of baby AJE. "The youngest in charge has arrived. Baby AJE," the picture was captioned.
