With 71 million followers on Instagram and being on the hit show, Stranger Things, for five long seasons, there always seems to be a lot of eyes on 22-year-old actress, Millie Bobby Brown. In August 2025, she took the world by complete surprise when she announced that her and her husband, Jake Bongiovi, adopted a baby girl to make them a family of three. And even though there’s been a million paparazzi photos of Millie hitting the streets pushing a pram, the world still does not know her little one’s name. With a recent Instagram photo hitting social media, there’s some chatter that Millie has very subtly divulged her daughter’s name to the world.
Did Millie really use a ‘juicyyy’ beach bikini pic to finally reveal her daughter’s name?
On May 18, 2026, Millie Bobby Brown took to her Instagram to share some beachy shots with her followers. Some of the pics are tied to Millie’s skincare brand, Florence by Mills, while others seem to be unrelated. The first photo in the carousel is a selfie of Millie in a bikini with wet hair just coming out of the water. For some, it might be easy to miss, but she’s wearing a couple of necklaces, and one of them is a silver cursive-style necklace with the name Ruth on it. In case you didn’t know, it’s quite a popular trend for mothers to wear this style of necklace with their child’s name on them.
Some people in the Instagram comments almost immediately spotted Millie’s accessory. One person made the connection and commented, “Her necklace says Ruth! Baby name??!!” Another person said, “Your daughter’s name is Ruth!!! So cute!!” Another individual asked the question, “Ruth ?? that’s your daughter’s name?”
Apparently, people were dying to learn this child’s name!
Millie had previously shared that she wasn’t going to divulge her baby’s name publicly.
In November 2025, Millie Bobby Brown spoke to British Vogue about her professional life, including starting on Stranger Things at just 10 years old, and her personal life, which now includes a husband and a baby daughter.
When Millie was asked to describe her baby’s personality, she immediately pushed back with the interviewer. “I’m not going to. For me, it’s really important to protect her and her story until she’s old enough to potentially one day share it herself,” she said.
It’s not surprising that growing up in the public eye and experiencing how rough the media can be, Millie is a fierce mama bear. She also shared, “It’s not my place to purposefully put her in the spotlight unwillingly. If she chooses to share her personality one day with the world, like I did when I was young, that’s something we’d support. But right now, as she’s so little… As her parents, it’s our job to protect her from that.”
Millie even stated that there were no plans to share her baby’s name until “she’s ready to decide for herself.” Hmmm… we can’t help but wonder if we’re all getting played or if Millie had a change of heart?
Being a young mom has not come without criticism.
Even since Millie announced that she’s a mom, there has been no shortage of paparazzi following her family around trying to capture a shot of this baby. It’s incredibly intrusive and probably feels very unsafe, but if you’ve ever followed anyone in the public eye who has a kid, unfortunately, this seems to be par for the course.
One thing that many online critics have noticed and clung onto is spotting her husband while they’re out and about not really tending to the baby while Millie continually appears to have her hands literally full, whether it’s holding her, pushing a stroller and holding her diaper bag, or towing her into a building in her car seat.
One person on X was quick to jump to his defense. They said, “I said it once and I said it again, when you’re a mom, you want to do everything most of the time, because we love our children and yeah sometimes we feel like no one else’s is going to take care of the baby as good as we do, so no this photo doesn’t mean he is a bad father.” A completely valid read on the situation.
Another person put a rather cruel spin on things. They said, “I wonder if he wanted to have an adopted kid and if it was just her idea, thus he doesn’t do anything to help with her project.” Yikes. It’s really not a kind thing to refer to her daughter as ‘her project.’
Whether or not Millie’s husband is truly pulling his weight when it comes to parenting duties, it’s always fun to speculate when you add something like a possible baby name into the mix!
