Kelly Osbourne Reveals Partner Sid Wilson Wouldn’t Let Their Son Have Her Last Name

Kelly Osbourne opened up about the "biggest fight" she had with her partner Sid Wilson regarding their toddler son, Sidney. When it came time to name their son, Osbourne and Wilson had very different views on his last name. And Osbourne makes a really good point about why the fight was important to her.

Kelly got candid about the fight

During last week's episode of The Osbournes Podcast, the family discussed the "debate" around naming your child an unconventional name versus a traditional name. Kelly then talked about how giving her son Sidney two last names sparked a major fight with his father.

She had intended to keep it quiet

"This is personal, and I didn’t expect to ever talk about this, but I’m going to," she shared. "It’s the biggest fight me and my baby’s father have ever, ever, ever had, and probably ever, ever will."

"I wanted our son to have both of our last names, and he wouldn’t let me. We had a huge fight," she confessed. "I feel that I was forced into doing something I didn’t wanna do, and I can never ever, ever forgive him for that, but we can move on."

They had to work really hard to compromise

Kelly revealed, "So right now my son doesn’t have a double-barreled last name, but after lots of eye-opening conversations and some couples' therapy, he has seen the light. We are going to legally change our son’s name to have both of our last names."

"Well, it’s in his favor," dad Ozzy Osbourne said, while mom Sharon applauded the decision. "We both made our child, so he should have both of our last names," Kelly said.

It took Kelly some time to come around to her son's name

After the conversation, Sharon Osbourne called the habit of naming kids after their parents "very dated," and Kelly had no choice but to agree. "Don't even get me started, Mom. Because it goes Sid's dad, then Sid, and now our son. Sid told me that his grandfather had the same name, but he didn't! His grandfather's name was Fred," she shared.

"I love Sid's name, don't get me wrong," Kelly said later. "I love my baby's name now. He is a Sidney."
