As a mom, it's so hard to see your children struggle, and it sounds like that's something that Kelly Clarkson is unfortunately all too aware of. During an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show that aired Tuesday, Kelly revealed her daughter is dyslexic — and that the kids at her school have been bullying her because of it.

Kelly spoke with guest Henry Winkler about her daughter's dyslexia
The Barry star shares River's diagnosis, so Kelly knew that he would understand her situation in a unique way.
"I was driving my daughter to school yesterday, and she's dyslexic," Kelly said on the show. "And you have told me that you're dyslexic as well. I find that amazing, to tell my daughter that you've written like 40 books and you're dyslexic."
She admitted that River has been getting bullied

River Rose, one of the two children Kelly shares with ex Brandon Blackstock, is now 8 years old, and according to her mom, lately she's been "getting bullied at school for not being able to read like all the other kids."
That's so heartbreaking to hear, but as Henry pointed out, she's certainly not alone. According to the Yale Center for Dyslexia & Creativity, 20% of people are dyslexic.
Henry shared a special message for River
After asking Kelly what her daughter's name is, he looked directly into the camera and said, "River! How you learn has nothing to do with how brilliant you are."
That was enough to get Kelly tearing up so much she had to get a tissue — and Henry's absolutely right.

River and her brother have been through a lot lately
Though it sounds like Kelly and Brandon have been doing what they can to coparent River and their 7-year-old son, Remy, together peacefully — including spending last summer in Montana together — they did just get out of a pretty contentious divorce. There's no doubt that's had an impact on their children as they adjust to their new lives, so it's especially heartbreaking to hear that River's been dealing with bullies at school at the same time.
Hopefully, River takes Henry's words to heart

He might have dyslexia, but he's never let it get in his way — and even though Happy Days did air before she was born, he did play the epitome of cool as Fonzie, so he knows what he's talking about.
Don't let those bullies get you down, River!
