Kate Middleton has returned home from the hospital after a 13-day stay following her "planned abdominal surgery" earlier this month. She will continue to recover at home for the next few months alongside her husband and children. Although the mom of three was away from her kids for some time, they did manage to stay in contact while she was gone.

Even while Kate was hospitalized, she still kept in touch with the kids
While Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are used to their mom having to be away for work, it's very different to have her in the hospital. The Princess of Wales made sure that she was still able to communicate regularly.
They kept in touch in a very familiar way
According to Express, reports say that Kate used a very familiar form of communication to talk to the kids while she was gone: FaceTime. The outlet reported that Hello! royal reporter Emily Nash said, "Kate loves FaceTiming the children when she is working away overseas, so I'm sure they will be in regular contact while she's in hospital and the kids will be keen to see her as soon as she's well enough."
It's hard to tell if the children saw their mother while she was in the hospital
According to reports from the beginning of the Princess of Wales' hospital stay, the children had not been to the hospital to see her. A couple of days into her time there, a source told Entertainment Tonight that the children had "been in school" and hadn't yet seen their mom in the hospital.
Prince William has been holding down the fort
While his wife is recovering, Prince William has put his royal duties on hold to be with his children.
"Both William and Kate are very hands-on parents — they take the kids to school, attend sports matches and concerts, and try to be home for bedtime as much as they can," Nash said.
Outlets also stated that Kate's parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, as well as her sister, Pippa, would be on hand to help care for the kids.
