Kate Middleton Reveals the Adorable Pet Names She Calls Prince Louis

We now know some of the playful nicknames that Kate Middleton has for Prince Louis. The Prince and Princess of Wales surprised fellow do-gooders who came out to Slough, England, as part of the Big Help Out on Monday to do community service work in honor of King Charles III's coronation. The royal couple brought all three of their children along, and while they were pitching in, onlookers were delighted to overhear Kate calling her youngest son by some super-sweet pet names.

Kate was all smiles as she and her children helped load wheelbarrows and make improvements to the grounds around the 3rd Upton Scouts Hut. While they were hauling sand and building an accessibility ramp on the structure, those working near the royals couldn't help but overhear Kate using some adorable nicknames for little Louis as she encouraged him in his efforts.

Kate was heard calling her son a classic English term of endearment during the afternoon outing

According to The Daily Mail, she affectionately called Louis "poppet" as she cheered him on while he continued to load sand. It was clearly hard work for the prince, who onlookers said struggled to move a fully loaded wheelbarrow and instead opted to find an empty one.

Once he filled that one, he worked hard to steer it to the Scouts hut, where other volunteers were attempting to build a path.

She also lovingly called her 5-year-old 'Lou-bug'

Most charmingly of all, Kate referred to her son by his pet name as she enthusiastically congratulated him on completing the task at hand. "Well done, good job, Lou-bug," she said.

The 41-year-old royal mom may have been feeling especially sentimental about Louis that afternoon since he had just hit a major milestone: his first official royal engagement.

King Charles asked citizens of the UK to take part in the event, meant to be a way for community members to get involved and help make a difference while celebrating his ascension to the throne.

Kate likely chose the Scouts because of her ties to the organization, since she's served as its joint president since 2020.

After they finished up their work, the Waleses were invited to place a painted handprint on the wall inside the hut, alongside the handprints of all of the other volunteers who helped spruce up the space.

Once that was done, Louis and siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte were treated to some roasted marshmallows and s'mores — the perfect way to close out the coronation weekend celebrations. We hope they all had fun!
