Coco Austin Responds to Backlash After Pushing Her 6-Year-Old Daughter in a Stroller

Former reality star Coco Austin has no time for the haters. The 43-year-old mom recently came under fire after sharing a photo of her 6-year-old daughter in a stroller. Now Coco — who is married to rapper and actor Ice-T — is clapping back at her critics, urging them to focus on much bigger issues in the world.

The photo in question was taken during a family vacation in the Caribbean

Coco shared the colorful snapshot of her and her husband pausing for a quick selfie while shopping. Their daughter, Chanel, looked appropriately bored as her parents browsed a Bahamas boutique. But the little girl's lack of enthusiasm isn't what drew criticism from fans — it was the fact that she was being pushed around in a stroller.

Some people felt that a 6-year-old is too old for a stroller

Critics raced to the comments section to call Coco out about the way she was babying her daughter. "I know she may be your last baby, but you have to let her grow up," one person wrote. "If anything, a wagon is more her age! I have a 6-year-old smaller than her and she hasn't been in a stroller in years."

They weren't the only ones throwing shade. Plenty of people chided the model for continuing to coddle Chanel.

But Coco is pushing back against all the hate

She took to Twitter to repost an article about all the backlash she'd received online. "Oh lord!! Really people," she wrote. "The world loves to criticize literally everything I do! Isn't there a war and mass shootings going as we speak, and you'd rather mess with my mothering? SMH (shaking my head)."

You tell 'em, Coco!

Coco has caught a lot of heat over the years for her parenting style

We're not surprised Coco is fighting back. She has been the target of public outcry numerous times over the years for the way she's raising her daughter. In fact, it was just last year that everyone was upset about the fact that Coco was still breastfeeding Chanel at the age of 5.

It's clear that Chanel is very loved and well cared for

There is so much sadness and fear in the world right now, especially for parents of small children, so it's silly to see everyone getting upset over a little girl who is being too well cared for. We have to agree with Coco on this one — there are far more important (and deserving) things we should be focusing our attention on right now. A child riding in a stroller isn't one of them.
