Doja Cat Lost Thousands of Social Media Followers After Bashing Parents

Last week, singer Doja Cat caused controversy when she tweeted that parents shouldn't be bringing their kids to one of her concerts. Her music is full of sexually suggestive lyrics, and her dance moves are as well. While she's not wrong about the fact that children shouldn't be at her show, her approach has made people upset. As a result, she's lost thousands of Instagram followers.

According to experts at KingCasinoBonus, who analyzed data from Social Blade, Doja Cat has lost 109,950 Instagram followers in the last 30 days. And 75,213 of those lost followers came after she tweeted about parents bringing their kids to her shows, which was on April 26. Clearly people were not pleased and let it be known quickly.

"Anyone familiar with Doja Cat’s music is aware that her songs are not family-friendly. While it is legitimate for the singer to underline this, and many agree with her on X’s replies, the language, as well as the terminology used in the tweets, has enraged many, who have made the decision to stop supporting her work, showing their disappointment through the unfollow button," a spokesperson for KingCasinoBonus said in a press release shared with Mom.com.

“Idk what the f–k you think this is but i don't make music for children so leave your kids at home motherf—er,” Doja tweeted. But she didn't stop her thoughts there, writing “im rapping about c– why are you bringing your offspring to my show." She then concluded the rant by saying “rappin about eatin d— and pissin on his v-cut, leave your mistake at home.”

Despite losing followers on Instagram, Doja Cat had a lot of supporters in the comments as well.

"Shes right. Its not celebrities’ job to monitor what your kids are consuming. Thats YOUR job as a parent," one person wrote on X.

Someone else wrote, "i almost feel more artists need to start saying this."

"Callin folks kids mistakes is crazy but exactly take ur kids to Disney on ice if you want 'kid friendly,'" another post read.

Another person agreed, writing "Period. Cause idk why parents always inserting their kids into s–t anyway. The world don’t revolve around lil Billy."
