Reality Star Seen Throwing Chairs at Ex With Child Nearby in Shocking Video

A video from a 2023 domestic altercation shows Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie Paul throwing metal chairs at her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, while her 5-year-old daughter, Indy, sat on a nearby couch, Page Six reports.

The nearly 3-year-old footage obtained by TMZ shows Paul attempting to put Mortensen in a headlock and kicking in his direction. As Mortensen backs away, Paul throws multiple barstools toward him and the couch where her daughter was curled up. Mortensen can be heard claiming her actions were “physical abuse.”

The child is heard crying after a chair is thrown, and Mortensen claims, “your daughter just got hit in the head with a metal chair.” Paul repeatedly screams, “You did this. You threw me.” She later claimed to police that Mortensen threw her to the ground before he started filming with his cellphone.

Mortensen told officers Paul was “hammered” and that he was sober when police arrived at the scene.

A spokesperson for Paul told Page Six that the video’s release was Mortensen’s “never-ending, desperate, attention-seeking, destructive campaign to harm Taylor without any regard for the consequences for their child.” The representative claimed the video “conveniently omits context” and that its release on their son’s birthday was a “reprehensible attempt to distract from his own behavior.”

Paul was arrested following the incident and charged with one count of aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, one count of child abuse and one count of criminal mischief, according to Page Six. She pleaded guilty to the aggravated assault charge under a plea deal that reduces the charge to a misdemeanor if she abides by a three-year probation. The other charges were dismissed.

Production for season five of SLOMW was recently halted because of a domestic abuse investigation into a February incident involving Paul and Mortensen. Law enforcement officials stated that allegations have been made “in both directions.”
