Celebrity Rainbow Babies of 2020

Although not always talked about, miscarriages are incredibly common — and even celebrities are not immune. But sometimes, after the storm comes, a rainbow baby is conceived after a loss to help bring light and hope into their parents' world. Even 2020, which has been a pretty tough year for everyone all around, has had some of these bright spots. The celebrity rainbow babies of 2020 obviously are such sweet additions to the stars' families, but it's also fun for us to see things go right for a bit.

Here's a roundup of celebs who gave birth after a miscarriage — or are expecting a rainbow baby in 2020.

Dylan Dreyer & Brian Fichera

Today show meteorologist Dylan Dreyer started her 2020 off right by giving birth to her rainbow baby. Oliver is Dylan's and her husband Brian's second child, born almost a year after Dylan revealed that she'd experienced a miscarriage. To help her on her pregnancy journey, Dylan turned to IVF, and several months later Oliver was born.

Milla Jovovich & Paul W. S. Anderson

The actress and her director husband are now parents of three little ones. Their rainbow baby, Osian, comes three years after she lost a pregnancy. Osian joins Milla's other children — 11-year-old Ever and four-year-old Dashiel — to round out their family of five.

Morgan Snow & Marquise Goodwin

Football player Marquise Goodwin recently opted out of the upcoming NFL season to spend more time with his wife Morgan and new daughter Marae. His little girl was born in February, after Morgan experienced multiple miscarriages, including twins. He sensed he needed some family time, so he made it happen.

Laura Prepon & Ben Foster

The Orange Is the New Black star and her actor husband welcomed their second child in February after experiencing a loss in 2018. "Our neonatal specialist told us the brain was not growing and the bones were not growing," Prepon later told People magazine. "We were told the pregnancy would not go to full term and that my body was at risk carrying any longer." After that devastating news, it's wonderful to see her so happy with her newborn son.

Hope Solo & Jerramy Stevens

In March, soccer star Hope Solo gave birth to twins two years after miscarrying twins. (The world works in mysterious ways, huh?) Her brand-new little ones are so cute, and she named them Vittorio Genghis, and Lozen Orianna Judith. "What have we been doing during our time in quarantine? Well, as you can see, we've been incredibly busy," she joked on Instagram.

Ruthie Ann Miles & Jonathan Blumenstein

Theater actress Ruthie Ann Miles and her husband have experienced a lot of tragedy in recent years. In 2018, Ruthie was injured while pregnant in a car crash and ended up losing her baby. The accident also claimed the life of Ruthie's then 5-year-old daughter, Abigail. After so much tragedy, the announcement that Ruthie gave birth to her daughter, Hope Elizabeth, this past April was welcome news.

Jamie Otis & Doug Hehner

It's been four years since the Married at First Sight stars lost their baby, Jonathan, in a stillbirth. Sadly, they had another miscarriage in 2019. But 2020 is looking better for Jamie and Doug, because she gave birth in May to their son, Hendrix. Now the couple has two kids, with Hendrix joining his 2-year-old sister, Henley.

Anna Wood & Dane DeHaan

When actors Anna Wood and Dane DeHaan welcomed their second child, a boy named Bert Apollo DeHaan, they revealed that he was a rainbow baby. As Anna wrote on Instagram, "Not just because of the loss we suffered before we conceived him. He also brings a hope and joy in this scary sad time for our nation and world. He was born weeks early in NYC in the middle of a global pandemic."

We're glad that mom and baby are OK.

Beverley Mitchell & Michael Cameron

In July, 7th Heaven star Beverley Mitchell welcomed her third child with husband Michael Cameron. Making baby Mayzel Josephine's appearance that much sweeter is that she's the couple's rainbow baby, born after loss. "You truly are the sweet angel we were waiting for!" Beverley wrote on Instagram.

Hilary Rhoda & Sean Avery

Model Hilary Rhoda's baby boy was a long time coming. When she announced that she was expecting, she acknowledged that her pregnancy journey had not been easy and included multiple miscarriages. On Instagram, Hilary encouraged want-to-be moms not to give up. "For those trying to conceive, all I can say is just keep going," she said.

Patti Murin & Colin Donnell

Frozen Broadway actor Patti Murin has said that starring in the show helped prepare her for motherhood, and now her rainbow baby is finally here. Patti and her actor husband, Colin Donnell, welcomed Cecily Philips Donnell in July. "She's strong as heck and ready to change the world, and we have never loved anything more in our lives," Patti wrote about her daughter on Instagram.

Joy-Anna Duggar & Austin Forsyth

It's been a little over a year since Joy-Anna miscarried her and Austin's daughter, Annabell. On the anniversary of the loss, she wrote on Instagram about her feelings around now being pregnant with her rainbow baby. "It hurts to look back at these pictures [of Annabell] and remember the pain and heartbreak, but when I do look back, I am so thankful for how far we’ve come… how God has given us more joy, peace & healing than I ever thought we would have again," she said.

Jinger Duggar & Jeremy Vuolo

Joy-Anna isn't the only Duggar who has dealt with loss. Her sister Jinger recently opened up about also having a miscarriage last year, right after telling her family that she was pregnant. Fortunately that wasn't the end of Jinger and Jeremy's story, and they're now expecting a little girl in November.

Hilaria & Alec Baldwin

Hilaria and Alec Baldwin already have four children together, and now they're expecting a fifth. The news of Hilaria's most recent pregnancy comes on the heels of her two 2019 miscarriages. In July, she revealed that she was almost eight months along, so the baby will be born very soon to bring a little light into her and Alec's 2020.

Meghan McCain & Ben Domenech

In 2019, The View cohost Meghan McCain opened up about having experienced a "horrendous" miscarriage. Now she gets to focus on happier things, because Meghan revealed in March that she was pregnant again and expecting a rainbow baby. She's been pretty private throughout the pregnancy, but the baby is likely to arrive in a few months.
