15 Celebrity-Inspired Baby Nursery Design Ideas

There are parts of the whole pregnancy journey that aren't much fun. As much as anyone might be looking forward to becoming a parent, it's hard to imagine that anyone really loves things like morning sickness, body aches, and getting stretch marks.

Because pregnancy can be so physically (and sometimes emotionally and mentally) hard, it makes the joyful and fun parts that much sweeter. Things like choosing a name and getting to decorate a nursery are real highlights for a lot of parents-to-be.

And while many of us might look forward to decorating a nursery, there are so many choices to make. What color palette to use? Should it be gender-neutral or a traditional explosion of pinks or blues? Should it be luxe, minimalist, eco-friendly, or designed as a room that the baby can grow into as they get older?

One of the fun things about social media is getting to see a glimpse of the gorgeous nurseries belonging to our favorite celebs. We might not have the budget to hire a professional decorator like some of them can, but that doesn't mean we can't find some great design inspiration from these dreamy baby spaces. Scroll down to see 15 baby nurseries that are totally sweet and just might inspire anyone looking for a perfectly serene space for all those long nights to come.

Ashley Tisdale

Ashley Tisdale's nursery for her daughter, Jupiter, is a great example of how a minimalist vibe can still feel warm and inviting (unlike a certain reality star's cold and sterile Calabasas mansion). The key is to combine minimalist trends like neutral walls and pieces with softer textures like the thick rug and soft pink rug.

Lance Bass

Wallpaper, which used to be considered hopelessly dated, is having a major interior design comeback. We love the whimsical wallpaper design spotted in the nursery shared by Lance Bass and Michael Turchin's twins. A nursery is a great place for going for wall decor that is fun but might be too much for another room of the house.

Jodie Turner-Smith

British actress and model Jodie Turner-Smith shares a daugher with Joshua Jackson (we are still #TeamPacey, now and forever), and we love that they went with a soothing blue wall color for their nursery. There is no need to stick to boring old "rules" like blue being a boy color when it comes to nursery design, as this cozy space shows.

Shawn Johnson East

Olympian and mother-of-two Shawn Johnson shared this cute picture of her daughter hanging out in her nursery, and it is such a good reminder of the importance of making the space kid-friendly once the baby turns into a toddler. Having toddler-sized furniture and soft finishes like that thick rug make it a fun and functional place for a little one to play and unwind with a nice stack of books.

Kailyn Lowry

Teen Mom star Kailyn Lowry isn't a teen mom anymore. She's 30 now and mother to four kids, so it's safe to say she's had several chances to figure out nursery decor that she loves. What we like about this glimpse into son Creed's nursery is the animal prints on the wall. Animals are a common nursery theme, but this is a good example of how to do that theme in a way that isn't too cartoony and can work for years as the kid gets older.

Emily Ratajkowski

Okay, full disclosure, we're not 100% sure if this is the main nursery for Emily Ratajkowski's son (though we do spy a changing table in the background), but this picture is a good illustration of something we love for nurseries: comfortable lounge furniture. Having a space to nurse, read, or just snuggle with the baby is so clutch, and sometimes we just want more space than just the traditional rocking chair.

Sadie Robertson Huff

Author, speaker, and former reality TV star Sadie Robertson Huff has a sweet baby girl with an even sweeter name: Honey. This peek into Honey's room shows a great option for families who are blessed with homes with high ceilings. Yep, we love a fun hanging chandelier light fixture for a nursery. It's nice to have some lighting that the soon-to-be toddler won't be able to knock over, right?

Mandy Moore

One of the challenges of designing a nursery can be finding a way to make it feel both right for the youngest member of the family but not have it scream "BABY" with sickly sweet colors and finishes. Mandy Moore's nursery is a good example of how to use interesting color combinations to make a space that is interesting but still youthful. We also spot that wallpaper trend in effect here too!

Khloé Kardashian

A key element to having a nursery that works for infant to toddler to preschooler is storage. One of the things we like about Khloé Kardashian's nursery for her daughter, True, is the cute little chair with a woven basket next to it. Baskets are a great way to have storage for things like books and toys and are easy for kids to learn to put their own stuff away (the dream!).

Halsey

Ooh, we love this little peek at baby Ender's room! There is something really fresh and cool about having an eclectic assortment of meaningful art pieces on a nursery wall, and we love the all the color in the wall hanging with Ender's name on it. It's funky in the best possible way! What else would we expect from Halsey?

Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner went with a neutral color palette for her son's nursery, as spotted in the video she and Travis Scott made to announce the arrival of their second child. What we like best about this room is the shelving for displaying classic children's books. Curling up in a rocking chair with a stack of board books is such a sweet time, and this is a great way to display the most loved books.

Kirsten Dunst

For families lucky to have larger spaces for the nursery, we suggest checking out Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons' nursery for their son Ennis. Not only do they take advantage of the space to go big with wallpaper design, they also have multiple seating options, allowing for the nursery to become a family hangout space.

Kate Hudson

There are parents who love a gender-neutral vibe for a nursery (which is cool) and those who love a look that can really only be described as super feminine (which is also cool). Kate Hudson's room for daughter Rani shows a great way to use wallpaper and lighting fixtures to go for a sweet and floral vibe.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson

Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his partner, Justin Mikita, have a light, bright nursery for their baby, Beckett. Two things that are inspo from this room: the smart use of color on an accent wall and including a daybed in the corner. A daybed can be a great option for tired parents to lie down in the middle of the night while staying close to the baby, and it gives the baby a "big kid" bed to grow into.

Kourtney Kardashian

While she may love rocking a goth look these days, Kourtney Kardashian went with a very traditional pink color palette for daughter Penelope's nursery. One thing that we think is interesting about this room is the crib placement. While most people tend to put furniture along the walls to maximize open floor space, Kourtney put the crib in the middle to make it a centerpiece of the room. That might be something to consider for highlighting a great hanging light fixture in a larger nursery space.
