15 Celebrities Who Hid Their Baby Bumps During the Pandemic

We've all been staying home a lot more this year — including the celebrities — and for several of them, the past several months provided the perfect escape from paparazzi cameras and red carpet events. Some celeb moms had the chance to hide their pregnancies until they themselves were ready to reveal the news on their own terms, a gift that isn't always afforded to stars.

Truth be told, a number of celebrities hid their pregnancies this year, with several of the celeb mothers able to keep things under wraps until after their little one was born. Keeping a secret in this day and age is almost impossible between social media and cameras following their every move, so it's pretty impressive that so many moms were able to hide their baby bumps and births as long as they did.

Just because they're in the public eye doesn't mean they want all aspects of their life to be public, and we admire their ability to keep this big secret until they were ready to share.

In July, Jessica Biel reportedly gave birth to a second child for her and Justin Timberlake. The celebrity parents didn't confirm the news themselves, but Justin's friend, Brian McKnight, did. He told Hollywood Life that Justin "just had a new baby" and added, "I think that's going to be really inspiring for him and he'll have some new music based on that, I'm sure."

Emma Roberts

Emma Roberts' baby news broke in June when the media started to report on her pregnancy, but the actress waited two more months before she confirmed anything herself. That's when she finally posted a couple of bump shots to Instagram. She reportedly was also pretty peeved when her mom confirmed the tabloid rumors before Emma got a chance to.

Mindy Kaling

The Office star didn't just hide her pregnancy, she hid her birth, too. It wasn't until after her son Spencer was born that she revealed the news that she'd been pregnant with her second child. She broke the story on Stephen Colbert's late night show, saying, "This is news to a lot of people." Sure was!

Nicki Minaj

In May, Nicki Minaj confirmed reports that she was pregnant, but she declined to share a baby bump picture right away. "The world ain't ready yet," she tweeted, adding that she would post one in a couple of months. Sure enough, in July she uploaded one to her Instagram, captioning it, "Preggers."

Emily Maynard

The former Bachelorette welcomed her fifth child in October, a girl named Magnolia Belle Johnson. Most fans didn't even know that Emily was pregnant, and she only gave her followers a heads up days before the birth when she posted a bump photo and captioned it, "Ready or not #5."

Amanda Seyfried

Amanda Seyfried didn't share any baby bump pics until after her second child's birth this past September. Only then did she post a throwback photo of her older daughter, Nina, putting her hands on Amanda's big belly. She captioned it, "The Before." She's since posted a couple of photos of her newborn, always carefully covering his face.

Karla Souza

The How to Get Away With Murder star waited until the month before her son Luka's birth to share that she was pregnant. She did so with a cute photo shoot where she and her older daughter wore matching shirts that said "mama bird" and "little bird" while Karla held her baby bump.

Meghan McCain

The View co-host Meghan McCain decided to keep her pregnancy to herself so that people would leave her alone. "People keep asking and requesting I show pics & details of my pregnancy. Given that people write on photos I put up of my family they are glad my Dad got cancer and he’s in hell, I thought I would leave my unborn child out of the social media cess pool as much as is possible," she tweeted.

Lily Rabe

Lily Rabe gave birth to her second child this past June, but the media didn't get wind of it until August when the actress posted a throwback photo of her pregnancy belly. "Looking back at a day in May," she captioned the shot. What a power move to be the one to break the news to the tabloids instead of the other way around.
