Catelynn Lowell Reveals That ‘Teen Mom OG’ Cameras Captured Her Reunion With Her Daughter

Fans of Teen Mom OG are going to get a chance to witness a very special reunion between Catelynn Lowell, Tyler Baltierra, and their now 12-year-old daughter, Carly. The reality stars recently revealed that MTV cameras were rolling when they finally got a much-anticipated visit with the daughter they put up for adoption more than a decade ago.

Catelynn and Tyler were just 16 when they decided to place Carly for adoption

The two were one of several couples who starred on MTV's 16 and Pregnant, the original show that kicked off the popular Teen Mom franchise. Unlike the other expectant families, Catelynn and Tyler made the decision to give their daughter up for adoption when she was born.

There have been ups and downs in their relationship with Carly's adopted family since 2009

The couple has struggled a bit over the years to maintain a relationship with Carly that works for her adoptive parents. There have been some pretty significant gaps in the times between visitations for Catelynn, Tyler, and Carly, which were covered extensively on MTV over the years.

It's been two years since they last spent time with their oldest daughter

A lot has happened for Catelynn and Tyler in the two years since they last saw Carly, so we imagine they have a lot of catching up to do. The pair recently welcomed their fourth daughter, Rya Rose, in August. So we're betting Carly is looking forward to meeting her newest little sister, as well as catching up with Catelynn and Tyler's other two daughters, Novalee and Vaeda.

Fans will get an opportunity to watch the reunion go down

During a recent interview with E! News, Catelynn revealed that MTV was along for the ride during her most recent visit with Carly, which means viewers will get a front-row seat for the special reunion.

"We did end up having a visit with Carly, and MTV did follow that. They didn't film Carly herself or anything like that, but they always film us," she explained. "People will be able to witness what our reaction was from the first day to the last day, from leaving and even just like the start of the visit and things like that, which I think is definitely important."

Catelynn and Tyler's decision has allowed a lot of families to see their own stories on television

The childhood sweethearts are the only couple from the original show to remain together. Both Catelynn and Tyler have spoken over the years about how important it is for them to openly share their adoption decision and the story of what came next so that they can help other people in similar situations.

While their open adoption hasn't been without some struggles, it sounds like it's worked out really well for both families. We're excited for the three of them to finally get to spend a little time together again after their long break.
