10 Celebs You Didn’t Know Were Homeschooled

Whether it was due to their budding Hollywood careers or because of bullying in the classroom, these famous entertainers opted for homeschool at some point in their educational lives. While there are varying opinions about the practice — especially these days, when practically every parent has turned into a homeschool teacher — these actors and singers definitely benefited from having that option for school.

The former Nashville star and mom of one may have been homeschooled from 8th grade on, but that didn't stop her from attending traditional high school events like proms and football games. “I went to prom, and I went to homecoming, and I was in the yearbook. No crashing of cars. I went to games and all that good stuff," Panettiere told MTV.

Yes, Frodo himself was homeschooled. A young Elijah Wood started out as a child actor, and due to the demands of his burgeoning career, he began homeschooling at 8 years old. Clearly, this is one homeschooler who's gone to the head of the class.

As a baseball outfielder and former NFL quarterback, Tim Tebow surely proved wrong all those naysayers who said homeschoolers couldn't be athletic. Tell that to the man who became the first homeschooled athlete to win a Heisman Trophy.
