There are some people who look forward to the fall every year. It’s when life starts to slow down from the busy summer months. The days get shorter, and the days get a little cooler. The leaves change color, and we get to break out our favorite sweaters.
November is also the month where the holiday season kicks off. Family gatherings, making memories, and enjoying the outdoors before it gets too cold are what make this time of year so perfect.
For parents who are expecting a baby in November, there are some scientific perks and interesting facts about babies who celebrate their birthday this month.
Babies born in November are more likely to be left-handed

There is no consensus on why this happens, but data indicates November babies more likely to be left-handed. Scientists are speculating that the reason there are more left-handed people who happen to have November birthdays may have something to do with exposure to sunlight possibly being linked to increased testosterone levels, which, in turn, increase the chance of being left-handed.
November-born babies are more likely to be athletic

Scientists still don’t know exactly why babies born in November tend to have more athletic abilities. But it’s estimated to be a similar reason to why babies are born left-handed: that sunlight exposure again.
Essex University found that more athletic and strong children were born in October or November, and it’s tied back to vitamin D. More sunlight exposure in the last trimester of pregnancy can translate to stronger muscles and bones, which impacts athletic abilities.
November babies might come from the Valentine’s Day boom

There are certain times of the year that seem to have increased birth rates, and one of those days is Valentine’s Day (for obvious reasons). The love holiday typically sees couples spending time together and, well, nine months later … that baby is born in November.
Researchers in the UK found a small spike of babies being born in November, and it points back to the conception rate rising by 5% during the week of Valentine’s Day and the week after. So, babies born in November have parents who spent time together celebrating.
People with November birthdays have less heart and lung problems

There are supposedly some health conditions that babies born in November have less chance of developing when they’re older. Health issues like heart problems and lung cancer appear to be less frequent in people with November birthdays.
Also, research shows that November babies have the lowest chance of developing multiple sclerosis when they’re older.
November babies are born under Scorpio or Sagittarius signs

For some, horoscopes and the signs we’re born under can help influence our lives and our personalities. November babies will fall under Scorpio (October 23–November 21) or Sagittarius (November 22–December 21).
Scorpios are passionate and powerful people who aren’t afraid to speak their mind and stand up for their beliefs. Sagittarius are independent, strong-willed, and natural born leaders.
November-born people tend to live longer in adulthood than others

Just like October-born babies, a 2011 study published in the Journal of Aging Research found that people born in the fall months – like November – tend to hit their 100th birthday more often than those born in other seasons.
The running theory on why this happens is speculated to be because of seasonal infections and exposure to more sunlight in that last trimester.
