Yasmin Maya is a successful beauty YouTuber, influencer, entrepreneur and founder and CEO of BIRDY LASHES, but above all – she is a proud Latina mom. When Yasmin became a mom for the first time to now 2-year-old Jaylin (and soon Kailin, who is due in a few weeks) she instantly found her true purpose: to be an inspiring figure in her daughters’ lives. As the daughter of Mexican immigrants, Yasmin understands the importance of making sacrifices as a parent, and doing all that one can to ensure her girls get to lead an even better life than she has. Throughout all her success, in motherhood Yasmin has never strayed away from her heritage and raises her girls in a traditional Mexican household in California alongside her husband and parents.
Yasmin has been a captivating force in the beauty space ever since she took a leap of faith at the age of 21 and launched her YouTube channel, Beautyybird. Today, she has created a safe space for all 3M of her ‘Beauties,’ has worked with large beauty brands and even created one of her own. Yasmin launched Birdy Lashes last year, and in her role as founder/CEO has continued to break down barriers for aspiring Latinx talent and entrepreneurs alike.
Aside from beauty, Yasmin uses the large online platform she has built as an opportunity to share pregnancy guidance and shed light on important topics regarding motherhood in the Latinx community. In the past, she has appeared in outlets such Mitu, Oprah Daily, People En Español, and as a guest on the Motherish podcast to speak about her journey as a Latina mompreneur. Through these conversations, she strives to uplift Latina mothers around the world to believe in themselves, love themselves and most importantly, follow her mantra of taking it “un dia a la vez” (one day at a time).
