Millennials Are Suddenly Thirsting Over Steve From Blue’s Clues

Maturing is realizing that, for some of us, Steve Burns of Blue’s Clues helped raise us. Well maybe not all of us, but even the adults whose kids grew up watching the OG Steve on the beloved Nickelodeon show can appreciate him today. Maybe even a little bit too much, because millennials are now thirsting over Steve from Blue’s Clues. He may even be leaning into it a little bit, of his interviews and social media posts are any indication.

Maybe it’s a case of today’s adults having major daddy issues and, after growing up with Steve on their televisions, they now have a ton of affection they feel they need to direct toward him. Or maybe it’s just that we all grew up and realized that Steve, both the fictional character and the real life guy, sort of has it all. Can you really blame people for simping over him?

They’re sure Steve would “talk you through it.”

I’m not sure which came first: millennials drooling over the OG Steve or Steve himself leaning into it in a wholesome way that only he can. But, somewhere along the way, people began making TikToks about being attracted to the guy who used to “skadoo” into paintings with a dog named Blue for our entertainment.

One user on TikTok shared a clip of Steve apparently attempting some “spicy talk” as he says, in a raspy voice, “Hey baby girl, I’m so valuing your perspective right now.” The TikTok user’s response is to sit there, slackjawed, before she shares her undeniable attraction to him. In the comments, someone wrote, “I love how he’s joking but no, Steve. You are doing it exactly right.”

Another added, “We need a podcast that’s made up exclusively [of] praise kink with Steve.” Hey, they might be onto something with that one. And clearly there are millennials everywhere who are suddenly fantasizing about the former Blue’s Clues star. Under another Tiktok that features Steve saying a “baby girl” line in another context, people commented under it to share their confusion at suddenly being attracted to him, but also going with it.

“Was his voice that deep when we were kids?” One user commented. “Asking for very confusing reasons.”

Someone else joked, “Is this…is this the boss level of daddy issues?”

As another added, “It felt both right and wrong that he said baby girl.”

Someone else on TikTok made a video about Steve’s voice and how it would sound in an audiobook format reading spicier books than Steve might be used to. Other users who are also millennials and also apparently thirsting over Steve agreed with the user about the audiobooks. One even commented, “Petition for Steve to do spicy audiobooks.”

Another person said that they think Steve would “talk you through it,” and we don’t have to get any deeper into what that probably means. When Steve shared a clip from his podcast Alive With Steve Burns on Instagram, fans were quick to leave comments urging him to use his voice for other things that could make his fans happy.

Yes, those things start and end with spicy audiobooks. But hey, Steve is all about reaching wide audiences and making people feel heard, so there’s certainly no harm in thousands of followers simping over him every chance they get.
