After one woman discovered that her husband was cheating on her repeatedly at a local hotel, she decided to get creative in her quest to call him out by getting a job at the hotel where the deed was going down.
TikTok user Kinsley Rae (@kinsleyrae2323), who acts out stories that people submit online, told a dramatic telling of the saga, and people were immediately sucked into the story.
“No better investigator than a woman scorned,” quipped a TikToker following along for the drama.
The wife and mom said she accidentally discovered multiple hotel reservations while using her husband's laptop to order groceries.
Thanks to Rae’s storytelling, a captive TikTok audience learned that a wife had discovered that her husband was cheating on her repeatedly after finding multiple hotel reservations in his email.
After realizing that there was one particular hotel he seemed to frequent over and over, the woman decided to make it her mission to get hired at that hotel and catch her husband in the act.
The woman applied to the hotel and said that she even gave the organization a bit of a “sob story” about how she needed the job because her husband was not providing financially. Once hired, she claimed that the hotel even told her that the gig came with free access to a hotel room for her, which she said was “even better” because it allowed her extra time and ability to “stake him out.”
She added that her husband was not aware that she knew about his infidelity, so she had let it go on for months in order to build an airtight case against him.
“Let’s see what kind of information I can get, because God knows I’m gonna get a divorce, and I’m definitely going to win out of this one,” the woman said in the submitted story.
The woman finally confronted her husband and his mistress while working the front desk at the hotel.
In an update to the original story, the woman claimed that she finally confronted her husband and his mistress at the hotel front desk.
While some time had passed without the woman spotting her husband or his alleged mistress, she added that her boss had gone on vacation, leaving her to run the hotel alone, giving her the perfect opportunity to gather more evidence against her husband. She soon got to combing through security footage and searching the hotel’s files for evidence of her husband’s credit card.
She said that despite seeing her husband all over the camera security footage, she could not find her husband in the hotel’s files, which she found very confusing because typically, hotel policy is that the credit card used on a reservation must match the name — and ID — on the reservation.
Finally, however, her husband and the mistress came directly to the front desk of the hotel to check in.
“He just, like, stares at me ghost face, doesn’t say anything for about five minutes, and I just start talking or conversing with the female that he’s with,” the woman says in the retelling. “And I said, ‘Do you know that he’s married? Do you know that he has kids? Like, who are you?'”
According to the story, the female replied that she had been with the man for a “couple of years” and denied knowing that he was married, even pointing out that he doesn’t wear a ring. She claimed she worked in the city, and the man came often to visit her.
The story didn't end there, as there was another plot twist.
Remember how the wife couldn’t find her husband’s name or credit card information in the system?
It turns out that the owner of the hotel — the very same one who hired her — was a personal friend of the mistress. So, the boss was allowing her husband to use his best friend’s credit card to check in, seemingly to help him cheat.
“So the manager, my boss, knows exactly what’s going on,” the woman said in the retelling.
The story ended with the woman deciding not to enact any real revenge or action on her husband or the mistress, but simply requested that the mistress send her any incriminating information she had so she could proceed with a divorce.
“I already have a lot of evidence, but it would help if I have your information, as far as your text messages, your pictures, your everything that you have, because all I want is a divorce at this point,” she said in the story retelling. “Keep him, you know, like, ew, just keep totally fine with that. But I need this evidence so that I can get a divorce very easily, and then that way you can just take the bas***d, you know, you guys can just get married. I don’t give a f****.”
Rae herself explains on her TikTok profile that the stories she recreates are usually pulled from Reddit, and she has no way of verifying if they are actually real or not. “Some are true, some are not, we may never know,” she notes.
But regardless of their validity, the people love them, and many were rooting for the wife-turned-hotel investigator.
“We love a side hustle queen,” wrote one commenter.
