Steal the Royal Kids’ Style With These Kate Middleton–Approved Brands

With Kate Middleton being as stylish as she is, of course her children would be the same. The kids' clothing that the Duchess of Cambridge picks out for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis has to check certain boxes. For one, it usually has to be pretty formal — after all, her children are representing the Crown, whether they know it or not. Additionally, the clothes still need to be easy to move in for her kids to play, and they have to look good. Kate loves a coordinated family fashion moment, and she clearly puts a lot of thought into what her children are wearing at all times.

The good news is that Kate tends to shop from everyday brands that are just as accessible for us commoners. Sure, some of the clothes can be on the pricier side, but there are also plenty of cheaper options from these brands. Get ready to shop!

Start-Rite

When Prince George was little, he almost exclusively wore Start-Rite shoes, a brand that specializes in baby's first walking shoes and that has shod several generations of royals. He's wearing a pair of their T-strap shoes in this photo. Although Prince William is carrying him, George could walk if he wanted to. That's what the shoes are for.

Rachel Riley

You can still buy this exact red smocked set that George wore to his little sister Charlotte's christening in 2015. Rachel Riley offers the set in navy and red for around $122. The British brand also makes adorable printed dresses, cute sweaters, shorts, coats, shoes, and more. It's a one-stop shop for bougie baby clothes.

Cath Kidston

Toddler George couldn't have looked any cuter than he did in this photo from December 2014. Look at him in his Start-Rite shoes (of course), knee socks, and toy soldier sweater vest. We truly cannot. The sweater is from Cath Kidston, a brand that makes adult clothes as well as adorable kids' clothes in all kinds of colorful and whimsical prints.

m&h

Not to be confused with fast-fashion fave H&M, m&h is a Spanish kids' clothing brand that Princess Charlotte wore a lot when she was younger. She's pictured here in one of the brand's dresses. They specialize in knitwear, cute dresses, shoes, and more for babies and young kids — both boys and girls.

John Lewis

John Lewis makes clothes for all ages, but it's the brand's children's designs that have gotten the most hype thanks to Kate Middleton. She's dressed Charlotte in outfits from the retailer — famous for its annual Christmas adverts — for years. This yellow lamb sweater is an item from the brand, as were the cute embroidered overalls that Charlotte wore last year.

Pepa & Co.

Perhaps Kate loves Pepa & Co. because the company's name sounds so similar to her sister Pippa's name. Most famously, the duchess dressed little George in a whale sweater from the London-based label. They sell boys' and girls' clothes for babies and kids, specializing in smart-looking shorts, shirts, shoes, sweater, coats, and more.

Trotters

Looking at all the photos we have of the Cambridge kids, it's clear that Duchess Kate loves a fun children's sweater. There was George's whale jumper, Charlotte's lamb cardigan, and now Louis' dog sweater. It's from the brand Trotters, which also makes some seriously Charlotte-worthy dresses.

Amaia Kids

Scrolling through the Amaia Kids website, you'll notice a lot of clothing that looks similar to what the Cambridge kids have worn over the years. Kate has been a loyal shopper there for all of her kids. For example, Charlotte's chic red coat is from the brand, as are George's go-to collared shirts. They make some really cute stuff.

Marie Chantal

Charlotte's adorable floral polo dress from a couple years back was from the brand Marie Chantal (founded by another princess, Marie-Chantal of Greece). The retailer seems to have pivoted a little, and they now specialize mostly in lounge and sleepwear for kids and babies. But honestly, even their printed nightgowns would be cute just as everyday wear.

Ralph Lauren

When Charlotte stuck her tongue out at reporters a few years ago, she did it in style in a $65 blue and white Ralph Lauren dress. Kate has also sported the American designer's clothing on many occasions, so she just couldn't pass up a chance to peruse the Ralph Lauren kids' line, it seems.

Zara

Like mother, like daughter, huh? Kate has been seen in affordable Zara pieces on several occasions, and she apparently also shops there for her daughter. For Charlotte's fifth birthday portrait, the little princess was pictured in a black and white houndstooth dress from Zara's children's line. So chic.

Elfie London

Prince Louis' red sweater pictured here is from the brand Elfie London, and it's actually a hand-me-down. According to Hello! magazine, by the time Louis was spotted in the piece, it was from a collection the brand had done seven years prior. We love to know that Kate is hanging onto her kids' clothing and having them rewear it.

La Coqueta

Louis wore an adorable white and light blue romper in the photos taken for Prince Charles' 70th birthday. The outfit came from the Spanish brand La Coqueta, but the good news is they also ship to the United States. Now we can all dress our children in little romper sets just like the duchess did.

Malvi & Co

Charlotte's cute blue dress from spring 2020 is from the Italian fashion brand Malvi & Co. They specialize in dresses, sweaters, shirts, and more for kids through age 14. And even though they're based in Italy, they do ship to the States, so your kids can now be just as fashionable as the royal children.

Boden

In George's eighth birthday portrait, he was spotted wearing one of his mother's favorite children's brands — Boden. Previously, she's dressed Charlotte in a T-shirt from the retailer, and then she bought $31 navy shorts from Boden for George. The brand also makes clothing for adults, and Kate has worn their styles on several occasions.
