Parents are really feeling summer-inspired names
The researchers at Hennessey Digital analyzed the most recent data from the Social Security Administration's baby name data to compile a list of the most popular summer-inspired baby names.
"Many parents often wish to associate their child with positivity, warmth, and sunshine," company CEO Jason Hennessey said in a statement.
The most popular name might be a surprise
Coming in at number one is the name Dylan, which is a Welsh name that means "son of the sea" or "born from the ocean." According to the data, 7,505 babies in 2023 were named Dylan. An overwhelming amount (7,054) of those babies are boys, while 451 girls were named Dylan.
Ryder, another popular boys' name and one that immediately brings up memories of summer bike rides, comes in at number nine.
Girls' names are also super popular

The most popular girls' name is Lily, which is, of course, a beautiful summer flower, and 6,146 baby girls were named Lily last year. Other popular girls' names in the top 1- include Aurora at number four, Isla, which means "island," at number five, Eliana (which is Hebrew for "sun") at number six, and Iris, another popular summer flower, at number 10.
Gender-neutral names dominated the list
"Unisex names are becoming a trend, as society is increasingly embracing gender fluidity and breaking away from traditional gender roles," Hennessey said in the statement.
The most popular gender-neutral name on the list is Parker, which is the third most popular name overall. Last year, 2,293 girls and 3,792 boys were named Parker. Other popular gender-neutral names include Kai at number seven, and River at number eight.
