There are a lot of stressful things that come with expecting a baby, but one of the parts that is the most fun for a lot of moms-to-be? Figuring out how to decorate the nursery. Whether we start with a theme and go from there or just select things we like (and hope our baby will too), there are a lot of different ways to approach this task… and getting a little nursery inspiration online can go a long way.
Google, Pinterest, and other social networking sites can be a great place to start, but it's hard to compare with the wealth of nursery photos that exist on Instagram. Some of the baby rooms featured on the app are professionally decorated, but many of them were put together by moms like us, and their creativity can help us come up with ideas we might not have thought of otherwise.
Read on for some of the most gorgeous nurseries on Instagram. Going boho, super girly, gender neutral, or even farmhouse? There are plenty of options out there and tons of inspiration for a room baby will love to grow up in.
Keeping It Simple
Despite the peer pressure to buy everything, this nursery shows just how gorgeous a room can be if we tone it down a little. The pale pink on the walls is so calming and goes so well with the statement rug — and what furniture is there is in the room for function, like the toy box.
A Statement Chair
Having one unique item as the focus in a room is never a bad idea… especially when it allows for a piece like this! This chair is adorable, and will be a perfect spot for reading bedtime stories and taking photos.
Pink & Girly
Looking for something pink and very girly? Inspiration abounds in this room, suitable for a baby princess. The flower sign on the wall featuring baby's name is beautiful, and so is that pretty plush rug.
Watercolor Wonderland
While we're on the topic of pink nurseries, this one is totally breathtaking. The crib sheet is fully embracing the bright, watercolor trend, and contrasts so well with the splash of flowers on the wall.
Boards Aren't Boring
Cooper is one lucky baby! The olive green boards create such a striking statement wall, especially with his wooden name sign featured on it. The browns used in his room go so well with the green, including the plant hanging in the corner.
Right to the Stars
We've never really considered a neon light for our nurseries, but now that we're seeing one in action, it's hard to deny how awesome it is. And it goes perfectly with the space-themed nursery, too. Peep those clouds hanging above the crib!
White & Pink
The caption on this Instagram post describes the nursery as a combination of boho and farmhouse, and while we might not have put those two categories of decor together before, now that we're seeing it, it's gorgeous. Can we talk about that name wreath?!
When Life Gives Us Lemons
It seems like lemons are everywhere these days, and yep, they make a pretty adorable nursery theme. This citrusy wallpaper is to die for, and all of the yellow in this room makes it such a bright and cheery place to be.
A Unique Crib
As long as it's up to safety standards, why not get a little creative with the crib? It could be the statement piece for the room, like this orange crib on (fake) wheels certainly is in this nursery.
Woodland Creatures
Animals are a pretty popular theme when it comes to nurseries and kids' rooms, but this is a really cool twist on it that we haven't seen before. This darker wallpaper featuring different animals is so eye-catching, and it will grow with the baby as they become a kid.
Just Like a Garden
Creating a nursery suitable for twins can certainly be a challenge, but this one turned out to be pretty spectacular. That wallpaper is absolutely gorgeous — it's like these baby girls have ended up with their own secret garden.
Baby Blue
Looking to create a nursery that's totally calming? This one shows how the right shades of blue paired with white can create that effect. Those bold curtains and that wallpaper? Sign us up!
Organizing Inspiration
It might not be as fun as picking out decor, but organization is key in any nursery — especially for making those middle of the night diaper changes as simple as possible. This drawer shows how to organize the essentials with clear acrylic containers. It's so pretty!
Neutrals Only
Neutral nurseries have become incredibly popular over the last few years, and it's easy to see why: They turn out gorgeous! Though this nursery is for a baby boy, it could definitely work for a girl, too.
The Perfect Shelf
It can be really hard to figure out how to take shelves and a collection of knick knacks and figure out how they all go together to look cohesive, but this photo shares a little inspiration. Arranging books, toys, decor, and even baby clothes together like this can create such a beautiful finished product.
Vintage Vibes
The floral wallpaper in this nursery is giving us all the '70s vibes in the best way possible! The colors are so pretty, and it goes so well with the white and natural wood tones used in the rest of the nursery.
Animals for All
Looking for something gender neutral and yet still adorable? This nursery might be able to help! Neutral tones plus animal prints create a super serene, cuddly atmosphere… and yes, we're jealous of the kid who gets to grow up enjoying that window seat.
Going Gray
Gray doesn't have to be drab in a nursery, especially when it's paired with other colors like these reds and blues. According to the caption on this post, the designs on the wall were DIY-ed with sponges — super easy!
A Gorgeous Changing Area
Here's some more shelf inspiration! This one combines neutrals for a gorgeous effect, especially that gold mirror, which will surely end up being useful when baby is old enough to become enamored with their reflection.
Swan Glam
We simply cannot get over that gorgeous swan-shaped rocking chair… or how it adds a level of glam to yet another animal-themed room, proving how many different ways animal nurseries can look. The possibilities are endless!
