Little Leo is one of the biggest babies ever born at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, Tennessee. An average baby weighs 7.4 pounds, and Leo was almost double that.

Katey Taylor revealed that her placenta weighed 4 pounds</strong>; the average placenta weighs 1.5 pounds.

Taylor might have been anticipating a big baby; she said that big babies run in the family. "This was a shock for sure," she said, regarding just how big Leo is.

At birth, Leo was the size of a 3-month-old infant!

"He went straight into size 2 diapers," Taylor explained.

Not all babies can fit into newborn clothes for very long, a lot of them quickly move into 0-to-3-month clothing after being born. But not Leo.

Taylor said, "I think we left the hospital in a 3-to-6-month outfit."

The nurses at the medical center where Leo was born were surprised that Taylor didn't have gestational diabetes, and that the baby's sugar levels were normal when he was born.

"He does eat around the clock," Taylor explained. "It’s kind of hard to keep up for sure."

Despite his large size, his mama is enjoying every minute of having a snuggly newborn at home.

"I’m trying to take everything with, you know, knowing that it’s just temporary. So I’m trying to take in every moment."
