Having someone in your life who is pregnant at the same time as you is a wonderful experience. But when that person is your sister, it can be an incredibly special bonding experience as well.
Two Ohio sisters got to share that beautiful experience, and then had the ultimate experience of giving birth on the same day in the same place, mere hours apart.

This was something truly special
Sisters McKayla Kennard and Adrianna Kennard found out that they were pregnant on the same day, and spent their entire pregnancies joking that they were going to have "cousin twins." Then what started out as a joke became something of a reality when they both welcomed their babies on June 18, only eight hours apart.
"None of it was planned," McKayla told TODAY.com. She's already a mom to two other kids, and works as a midwife, while this was Adrianna's first pregnancy.
They share a deep sisterly bond
McKayla told the outlet that her water broke around 4 a.m., and about an hour later, in her family's living room, her son Kash was born. "I pushed three times and he was out," she explained. "My mom had Adrianna on FaceTime so that she could watch."
Watching her sister give birth made Adrianna feel a lot better about her own impending delivery. "She made it look super duper easy," Adrianna said. "I was like, OK. I can do this."
It was a total happy coincidence
Witnessing her older sister give birth came in handy for Adrianna a lot sooner than she thought. Not long after her nephew Kash arrived, Adrianna started having contractions of her own. When she went to the hospital however, they told her that she wasn't really in active labor yet.
"They were like, ‘You can either hang out here, or labor at home,’" she shared, saying she opted for the second choice. But instead of going home, she went to McKayla's to meet her new nephew.
Then there was a change of plans
By the time Adrianna and her boyfriend got to McKayla's house, her labor had progressed significantly. But Adrianna couldn't fathom another trip to the hospital.
"I was like, ‘I guess I’m going to have my baby here,’" Adrianna shared. Luckily for her, McKayla's birthing pool had already been cleaned — it just needed fresh water.
McKayla immediately went into midwife mode. "I was helping her with slowing her breathing and she was squeezing my hands," she said. "When she was pushing, I was reassuring her that she was doing well and this is what her body was made for."
The cousin twins were born
Eight hours after Kash's birth, his cousin Rylan was born in the same birthing pool. "My sister caught the baby," Adrianna happily shared.
"The night before, we were doing squats on FaceTime and joking about going into labor together," she recalled. "The fact that it actually happened is crazy."
