Pregnancy brain is real and multiple studies have actually proven it.) But just in case you needed further proof, one woman's TikTok is currently going viral for capturing her hilariously epic moment of prenatal forgetfulness. Apparently, the mom-to-be set up an exciting gender reveal with her boyfriend. The only problem? She forgot he was colorblind — and had no idea what they were having until she actually told him.
The video was uploaded earlier this month by TikTok user Jenna Cowan
In the clip, which has now been viewed more than 2.5 million times since January 6, Cowann's boyfriend stands in the middle of their living room holding a gender reveal cannon.
While the camera rolls, she moves to stand beside him, anxiously awaiting the moment that it "pops."
Seconds later, he twists the end of the cannon ...
… and in slow motion, we watch an explosion of pink confetti rain down around the couple.
Right away, it's clear that Cowann is beside herself with happiness. But her boyfriend's reaction is more subdued as he looks over at her in confusion, waiting for her to fill in the blank.

"Not me forgetting that my boyf is colorblind during our gender reveal …," Cowann wrote in her video caption.
Oops!!
It's unclear what exactly the boyfriend expected to happen
Maybe he thought something else would pop out of the cannon or that his girlfriend would scream the gender as soon as it went off.
Whatever the case, he was clearly left in a moment of stunned confusion.
"Bless him," one person wrote, adding they even caught him mouthing, "What is it?" to his girlfriend.
"I know!" Cowann replied. "I was thinking, 'You alright, hun?' Then it hit me."
"The way you point at the confetti makes it look like you're thinking, ‘Can you not see what it is?'" someone else wrote.
"I WAS thinking that," Cowann admitted. "I was like, ‘It’s a girl?!? How are you confused?'"
Others applauded the boyfriend's willingness to even go along with it
"It’s the fact he still did a gender reveal even though he knew he was colorblind," one user wrote. "He’s a keeper, girl!"
Based on her responses, it's clear that Cowann already knows that. And, for the record, she later told Insider that even her boyfriend forgot his colorblindness would be an issue beforehand. (Apparently, he saw orange instead of pink.)

That said, he was a pretty good sport about the whole thing.
"Considering he couldn’t see the color, his face says he didn’t care whether it was pink or blue!" one person noted.
But to that, Cowann did explain that both of them had actually been leaning one way before the reveal.
"We were both so convinced it was a boy!!" she wrote in one comment. "So we were in such shock for a while after."
The video also prompted other users to share their own funny stories
"I remember I sent my dad, who's colorblind, my gender reveal picture, which was handprints in paint," one user wrote.
In response, he apparently said, 'Oh lovely … what is it?'"
"Literally same as my big brother at his gender reveal," someone else shared. "He’s colorblind, too."
"I'm dutent colorblind, [and] I feel his pain," said another person, who then asked the question of the hour: "So is it a girl or a boy?"
Roughly 300 million people throughout the world are colorblind
This can mean anything from confusion between certain colors to a general confusion across the color spectrum.
Interestingly, the condition tends to be more common among men than women. According to researchers, about 1 in 12 men (or 8%) are colorblind, whereas
1 in 200 women (0.5%) are colorblind.
It's inherited genetically through the X chromosome and is often considered to be a mild disability, although it's not always obvious to others.
In the end, Cowann's video turned out to be pretty endearing
"I feel like that minute of not knowing, then his face changing, made this vid so much more beautiful," one user wrote.
"I love that he still does the gender reveal for you, knowing he can’t see what color it will be," someone else pointed out.
We couldn't agree more.
