A mom is sharing a genius hack to tackling the playground after it rains. Most times, parents will avoid playgrounds after a rain shower simply because of the wet equipment, because honestly, who wants to go down a wet slide?
But this mom said a little rain doesn't have to ruin the fun.
The mom of two said her secret weapon is an extra diaper, and not for diaper changes. She uses the diaper to wipe down slides and swings, relying on the absorbency to do the hard work.
“Mom hack: Bring a diaper to the park after rain to wipe down slides,” she told her followers on TikTok.
In the video, the mom can be seen wiping down what looks to be a plastic slide at a playground on a gloomy day.
The mom admitted that her hack is a bit wasteful (hello inflation) but added that it's worth the "fresh air" and "change of scenery."
The hack is simple, yet genius, especially since a lot of parents would rather not be stuck inside the house due to bad weather or what's left of it.
But with every genius hack comes some critics or those with alternatives.
Some parents in the comments pointed out that diapers are too expensive to be wasting on wet playgrounds, and suggested using a towel or paper towels instead. The mom said the diaper was a bit easier since you could just toss it in the trash afterward.
Another parent said they put their kid in a waterproof onesie — we didn't even know that was a thing!
Another parent suggested bringing a set of extra clothes and letting your kid have at it with the wet playground. But one person probably had the best suggestion, a squeegee.
