Anyone who has given birth knows the pain of the first postpartum poop. It is almost as bad as giving birth. And one mom on TikTok is getting real about just how terrible the experience is. Tiffany Remington of Portland, Oregon, went viral after she shared a video of her first postpartum poop and how her husband got involved.

"It's time to poop after birth and for me, it is just as mortifying as birth," Tiffany says at the beginning of the video.
She then films herself on the toilet with her husband, Caleb, by her side the whole time. Tiffany admits that she took Colace, the stool softener, which is a brilliant idea, and added that it wasn't as bad as the first time she gave birth.
After doing the deed, Caleb helps her wipe. She cries out in pain, but then Caleb says "OK, I think you're clean." Next, he preps her maternity pad and postpartum underwear.
"We share these intimate moments bc often times, esp as first time birthers, you dont know what to expect or what is normal. THIS IS NORMAL." Tiffany wrote.
"Before any toxic messages roll through, yes i am fully capable of doing this on my own," Tiffany captioned the video, which has more than 1 million likes.
"My husband asked if he can help bc he knows i hate the feeling of being dirty and choose not to wipe due to my tears, inflammation, and comfortability," she added.
People's comments have been largely positive, with many praising Caleb for stepping up and helping his wife during her time of need.
"A man who helps you postpartum is a man to keep," one commenter wrote.
"Omg what an AMAZING HUSBAND!!! You two are wonderful," someone else commented.
"This kind of support is what every woman wants in their husband. You go dad," another person shared.
"Men take note this is the support your wife wants, good on you dad! And mom for letting him help," someone else mentioned.
"he is an angel of a husband wishing i had that last week when birthing my new baby so much support from him," another person added.
In her caption, Tiffany explained that her main reason for sharing the video was to normalize new parents asking for help when they need it. So often new parents, especially birthing parents, forget that they're not invincible.
"Women don't have to do everything without help," Tiffany told Today. "Otherwise, we create unwritten expectations that we can do it all and that's when we physically, emotionally and spiritually crash."
Here's to the moms out there keeping it real.
