Mom Charged After Allegedly Trying To Hire a Hitman To Kill Her 3-Year-Old

A young mother in Miami has been charged after she allegedly tried to hire a hitman to kill her 3-year-old son. Jazmin Paez, 18, reportedly went to the website rentahitman.com and attempted to hire someone to kill her toddler. The request was directed to authorities. Paez was charged with first-degree solicitation of murder and third-degree using a communications device for an unlawful use, according to court documents.

The website was created by Robert Innes and initially used as a cybersecurity project, but the website has received actual requests for hitman services. In her request form, Paez allegedly wrote that she needed "to get something done once and for all." She shared an additional request for her son "to be taken away, far, far, far away and possibly be killed but ASAP," according to multiple accounts.

Paez reportedly offered $3,000 for the hit to be carried out. She also offered photos of the boy and shared the address where he was.

Innes immediately called the Miami-Dade police department before he was referred to the Crime Stoppers team. It was at that point that a detective was assigned to the case.

"Because of the fact that it involved online allegations, so that's what caused a little bit of a delay when he called a couple of times, but then once they were able to get a grasp on exactly what he was referring to and how this is playing out, that’s when the call taker passed that information to the on-duty supervisor in the communications bureau," Miami-Dade Police representative Alvaro Zabaleta told NBC 6.

Paez was arrested within hours of the investigation beginning. Thankfully, the boy was found safe at home with his grandmother.

Investigators have not speculated on a possible motive but did say that her computer browser still had the website stored, according to CBS News Miami.

"My daughter is not a monster," Paez's father told NBC 6. He added that she became a mom at 15 years old and has a complicated medical history.

"My daughter is a little girl who was born with health problems. She has liquid retained in her neck. She's had 12 surgeries, she lost the ability to move her face. She's been bullied in school, they called her 'the monster,'" he said of his daughter.

Her son is now in the care of family.
