I’m 24 and My Husband Is 85 but We Still Want 2 Kids

A Mississippi woman is making waves for her marriage. Miracle Pogue, 24, is married to Charles Pogue, 85. Yes, you read that correctly. They have a 61-year age difference. The couple met in 2019, started dating in 2020, and tied the knot last year, with Miracle describing it as the "best day of my life," according to the Daily Mail. The wildest part? Despite Charles' age, the couple still wants to have children together.

When the couple met, Miracle was working at a laundromat and Charles was a retired real estate agent.

"Charles used to bring in one item of clothing and only wanted me to serve him," Miracle told The Daily Mail. "One day, he waltzed in there and threw a piece of paper down and said, "Write down your number," like he's a player. He was my knight in shining armor."

Naturally, Charles didn't tell her how old he was when they first became friendly. And by the time Miracle found out, she was "in too deep," and realized she had feelings for him.

"I thought he was maybe 60 or 70 because he looks so good. He's always up and active," she said of her husband, who was born in 1937.

"My granddad said if I was happy and it's what I want to do, then he's happy. My dad was like, 'Hell no, ma'am, not at all,'" she explained.

She shared that she told her father that if he wasn't supportive of her relationship with Charles, his relationship with her would be over.

"I told him I needed his support and to walk me down the aisle. Once he got to meet Charles and talk to him, he loved him," she added.

And he did in fact walk her down the aisle.

Even though Charles is 85, and Miracle will almost definitely outlive him, she wants to have his children.

"I want him to have another generation. We're looking to go to an IVF clinic to talk about our options," she said.

She talked about an earlier visit to an IVF clinic where the employees judged them and their age difference. However, she is willing to overlook the judgment if it means that she gets to have her husband's children. She's looking to have two children, even though Charles may not live long enough to see them graduate from high school.

"People making comments online doesn't make a difference, we just let them do their thing. We're very happy together," Miracle said.

She also shared that people have mistaken her husband for her father, which she just laughs off. Her husband is actually a full decade older than Miracle's own grandfather. She also said that strangers assume she's a gold digger, but she's a nurse and has no problem taking care of herself financially.

"It's so crazy that people come after me, as he's the older one. He's with me of his own free will, he chose me. I've learned it's OK for people to say how they feel, it's a free country," she added.

Clearly, the age difference isn't slowing them down!
