Florida Man Who Met Single Mom on a Dating App Adopts All 6 of Her Kids

It's like a modern-day Brady Bunch. A family in Florida is the definition of a blended family after a husband adopted his wife's six sons from her previous marriage. He had an adult daughter of his own, and together the couple has two more children.

Tony Thomas met his wife Lexy in 2018 on the dating app Christian Mingle. At the time, Lexy Thomas lived in Kentucky with her six sons, while Tony lived in Florida and had a daughter who was almost an adult.

"The odds weren't in our favor," Lexy wrote in a TikTok video. "No one really believed it could work out but it did."

After dating long-distance, Tony proposed to Lexy. They started making plans to live in Florida, but Lexy had to wait to be granted full custody of her boys. As soon as she was, they left and never looked back.

"I booked last-minute flights for all the boys to see Tony, and because I was granted full custody of them, they never went back to Kentucky," Lexy told the Daily Mail in an exclusive interview.

"The judge said that it's been one in two cases where she has ever permitted the biological parent to move to another state from the other biological parent," she added.

Lexy explained that her ex-husband, the biological father of her boys, is "no longer in their life and hasn't seen them since they were younger."

Four years after the new couple got married, Tony decided to adopt the boys, officially making him their dad. "Tony is on all the kids' birth certificates as their father," she shared. "One of the boys even changed his first, middle, and last name when he was adopted."

In addition to the boys and Tony's daughter, the couple has welcomed two more children — a daughter and a son. One of the keys to their family is that they don't think of their children as separate from one another.

"I see us as a very blended family because there has never been this dynamic of his kids, my kids," Lexy explained. "We are a family, there is no separation."
