The internet is loving one dad's incredible catch that happened during a recent Los Angeles Dodgers game and is now going viral. According to reports, Steve Pettit was at a game against the St. Louis Cardinals on April 30 when he saw a foul ball headed straight toward him. Although he was holding his daughter in a baby carrier and had a drink in one hand, Pettit somehow managed to catch the ball in his one free hand — without spilling a single drop of his beer.

The incredible catch was luckily caught on camera
In fact, when it happened, announcers for the L.A. Dodgers couldn't believe their eyes.
"A beverage, a baby, and a baseball," they marveled.
Later, the Dodgers shared the jaw-dropping clip on the team's official Twitter account, which has had fans cheering for days now.

Needless to say, the catch has earned Pettit some fans of his own
"Dad power at Dodger stadium is insane," one person commented.
"Not all heroes wear capes!" said another.
"That’s impressive," noted one person, before joking that it "would’ve been more impressive if the ball landed in his drink and he chugged it."

At least one person who commented on the tweet said they were actually there in the stadium that day and were blown away by what they saw.
"Witnessing it live was insane!" one person shared.

As for Pettit, he appears to be pretty humble about the whole thing
"The ball just kind of came up, and it was kind of like slow motion," he told NBC Los Angeles after the game. "It was sort of like, ‘Boop!’ It just like came right to my hand."
According to the outlet, Pettit is an engineer for the Glendale Fire Department, and despite being a lifelong Dodgers fan, he actually only went to the game that day after a co-worker offered him free tickets.
When Pettit made the catch, it was mere seconds after Tommy Edman of the St. Louis Cardinals hit a foul ball into the stadium's second deck off the first-base line. And, in the biggest twist of them all, Pettit says the co-worker who gave him the tickets that day is actually Edman's brother-in-law.
(Go figure!)
Modesty aside, Pettit's new "fans" are still cheering him on
Countless people across Twitter continue to praise the dad in tweets, with some even calling him the "MVP" of the game.

From the sound of things, it seems like Pettit's wife, Misty, who was standing next to him when he made the catch, is also still in awe of the moment.
"I pulled my camera out and started to record the reaction because the crowd was going wild, which was really fun to see," she told NBC.
Still, we're willing to bet that the most thrilling part of it all came at the end, when the Dodgers ultimately defeated the Cardinals, 6–3.
