While gender reveals have gotten out of control in recent years, sometimes they're still really sweet to see. Patrick Hartmann recently went viral thanks to the way he reacted when he found out the sex of his unborn child, and for good reason. It was explosive but very sweet.

Patrick and his wife McKenna opted for a simple gender reveal cake during dinner with their families. McKenna shared the video on Instagram, describing the moment of the reveal as one "we’ll never forget!"
When they cut into the cake and saw the blue frosting, both Patrick and McKenna were shocked. They have a daughter at home and we're anticipating seeing pink yet again.
"The reaction just came naturally. I feel like I need a boy to be able to keep up with our little girl Maverick," Patrick explained to People in an interview.
"We never imagined we’d have a boy with nothing but girls on both sides of our family! I have 2 sisters, he has 3 sisters, and our first child is a girl so we didn’t have high hopes for any boys, to be honest " McKenna explained in her Instagram post.
She told People that "when we cut into that cake and saw blue, it was such a surreal moment. I was just in pure shock and so incredibly happy at the same time!"
In the video, Patrick gets super excited about being a dad to a son. He yells, jumps up, and starts banging on the table, drawing attention from the entire restaurant, much to his wife's embarrassment.
"What you can't see in the video is that when Patrick hits the table, it actually made a wine glass pop up and break at the stem, spilling wine all over my dad!" McKenna explained. "So when you see me in the video trying to reign him in, that's what just happened!"
Their son is due in January, and it's clear that he will be incredibly loved. McKenna explained that their daughter Maverick is very excited to be a big sister.
"I never imagined I'd be a boy mom. The fact that we get to give my sweet daughter a brother is just such a huge blessing," she said.
And this new baby will always have his viral debut!
