Budget-Friendly Dad Gets Dragged After Sharing Hacks for Eating Out With Kids

Going out to a meal at a restaurant when you have multiple kids is expensive. But a family in Texas is sharing their "hacks" to make eating out with more than one kid a more affordable and less wasteful experience. And while some parents are praising them for their "genius" idea, others are calling their behavior "embarrassing."

Josh Mileham, a dad of four in Texas, was seen in a TikTok posted by his wife Callie using one fajitas meal to feed their four kids. He takes one of the tortillas that comes with the meal, adds some shredded cheese, and then presses it between the hot skillet and the wooden board it comes on.

"It’ll make you a quesadilla in about two minutes," he says. He then hands it to his son, who gives the camera a thumbs-up.

"Omg, this man is a freaking genius!!!" one person commented.

"I grew up extremely poor and this brings me so much joy that you found a way and your children look so happy to enjoy it ❤️," another person said.

"At least they take their kids out to eat. I never got to go out to eat as a kid. Plus it’s better than the amount of waste I see most families do," another comment read.

"My kids eat like grown men. There is no way that would fill my kids up. If I can’t afford to feed the kids, I have I [sic] stay at home," someone else wrote.

"Or just get a kids meal for $10 for your kids," another person wrote.

"Yeah, my children deserve their own meal just like I do. This is weird — it's not even like a 1 yr old who's going to pick at food. That's a person," someone else shared.

"Then don’t go out I would never do that to my kids that’s embarrassing," another person chimed in.

The fajitas video wasn't the only dinner hack that the family shared. They posted another video at a Texas Roadhouse, where Josh ordered one pulled pork sandwich. He takes the meat out of the sandwich and makes "sliders" using the free rolls on the table. At the end of the video, his wife shows the $17.50 check.
