There’s nothing like the love a boy has for his mom, and one kid is proving that in a big way.
Blaysen Zimm, an 11-year-old in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, went viral for asking LSU baseball player Paul Skenes to date his mom while being interviewed on the news. The video has been viewed almost half a million times on Twitter alone, and even Skenes has seen the video and liked it.
“Paul Skenes, my mom is single, bro. I need you,” he said during the news interview.
Blaysen’s mom, Haley Zimm, is taking the whole thing in stride.
“Just going through the comments everyone is saying, ‘That kid is the G.O.A.T.’ and I’m like, ‘Heck yeah, he is,'” she told news station WBRZ. She couldn’t believe that Blaysen would be so bold, especially on TV. She told the station that her phone was “blowing up” as they left the baseball stadium.
“I was seriously speechless. I don’t know where that came from, I didn’t even know what to do,” she explained.
Blaysen has a younger brother named Brody and is usually the quiet one, which is why all of this is so surprising to his mom.
Blaysen couldn’t have imagined that he would go viral, but now his face is all over TikTok. One of the TikToks said he was simply “shooting his mom’s shot.”
“I was just looking out for my mama,” Blaysen explained. “I want her to be taken care of, and I love her.”
His mom admitted that she had never seriously considered dating Skenes in the past, but she’s certainly open to the idea.
“It would be so cool,” Blaysen said when asked what he thinks it would be like to have Skenes as a stepdad.
“Be my stepdad, Paul Skenes,” he said.
