Sarah Nicole Landry, widely known as @thebirdspapaya, recently sat down with Bethany Braun-Silva on The Breakdown with Bethany to discuss resilience, personal growth, and how she’s navigating one of the most transformative years of her life. Landry, a content creator and body confidence advocate, has long been a source of inspiration for her millions of followers, but in this interview, she offered a raw and unfiltered glimpse into her journey.
Reflecting on the challenges she’s faced, Landry shared, “It’s shown me my fight. It’s shown me my grit, and it’s shown me how much I can do when I decide to do things scared.”

Landry went on to describe 2024 as a defining year in her career and personal life. “Out of my entire career, this is the year that stands out to me the most in terms of a success story, because I know how dark it was for a while there. And I’m really, really grateful to still be here genuinely doing this job. It’s a dream.”
Her family dynamic also played a significant role in her journey. Landry addressed the hesitation many people feel about having children with large age gaps, saying, “I know that there’s a lot of people who hesitate on, you know, they wanna have another baby, but there’s a huge age gap and how the heck will that ever work? And I love being living proof of that. And I love every mom who slid into my DMs and was like, ‘Hey, my kids are like 10 years apart. Let me tell you our story. Let me tell you how good it is.’ ” Her openness about her own experiences reassures other parents facing similar questions, fostering a sense of community and shared understanding.
Embracing a new decade
In Part 2, the conversation shifts gears to talk about more personal and transformative topics. Landry discusses the complexities of intimacy and relationships, especially for women approaching 40. This milestone birthday feels like a turning point for so many of us — a moment to reflect, redefine, and reclaim our power.
For Landry, turning 40 isn’t something to dread; it’s an opportunity to embrace a bold new chapter. “I’m excited for what it brings,” she said. “I’m excited at the opportunity for the narrative of what being in your 40s can look like and show people how powerful that is — not like, ‘Oh my God, I’m 40, over the hill, done for, let me erase myself from society.’ They try to do that so often. I want to do more.” She described her determination to keep pushing boundaries, sharing, “I said this year was like my best yet. I want more.”
Landry reminds us of the importance of showing up for yourself, embracing the beauty in imperfection, and celebrating every stage of life. Whether you’re navigating motherhood, struggling with self-image, or simply wondering if it’s too late to chase a dream, Landry’s story will leave you inspired to take the next step — whatever that may be.
