The New Flavor That May Kick Pumpkin Spice Latte’s Butt

Move over pumpkin spice latte, there's a new flavor in town. Welcoming the official first week of fall Starbucks debuted their new autumn seasonal flavor that may even win over the hearts of loyal PSL drinkers.

Behold, the toasted graham latte made with steamed milk, graham flavors, sweet cream and topped off with sprinkles of cinnamon graham crumbles. Doesn't that just sound like a dreamy, cozy autumn day in a cup?

"I thought about the back-to-school season and looked at the latest food and beverage trends," said Yoke Wong, R&D Manager, in a statement. "What I found to be quite popular in the U.S. is the taste of cereal milk, the delicious leftovers in your breakfast bowl."

By soaking graham crackers in milk to reflect the sweet taste, Wong was determined to develop the unique toasted graham concoction.

"I knew I was getting close to the final recipe when I began to notice that one of the samples was the favorite time and time again," she said. "Based on all of the feedback we received, we were able to create a beverage that conjures up feelings of fall, comfort and warmth."

However, with a new autumnal drink flavor phenomenon comes a price of a spending habit. Fortune has reported that last year the average amount a pumpkin spice latte drinker spent was $7.81, compared to $6.67 as a regular Starbucks drinker would spend.

Will the new toasted graham latte be worth the price too? Will it become the new PSL? The only way to find out is to get your hands on one.
