Swinging Child by Wrist

A 19-year-old Wisconsin nanny will head to court after a nanny cam caught her being “physically rough” with a 4-month-old child, according to WSAW-TV 7. The father was concerned his kids weren’t being watched as carefully as they should have been after his 2-year-old slammed his head into a pole in the family’s basement. After watching nanny cam footage in early March, he discovered nanny Jennifer Cronin abusing his infant son — slapping him across the head and swinging him by the wrist.
Suffocation

When the parents of a baby in Texas noticed their infant acting oddly, they installed a nanny cam to watch the activities of caretaker Tirza Magana, 48, while they were away from the home. The footage showed Magana smothering the 4-month-old child, carrying her by the head and carelessly throwing her on her crib on multiple occasions. They immediately fired the woman and contacted authorities. Magana admitted to smothering the child daily for a month, and said she was aware it could have caused the baby’s death, according to Houston’s KHOU.com.
Multiple Counts of Abuse

When Gianna Cochran’s ex-boyfriend felt she might be abusing their children, he set up a nanny cam to find out. At the time, he may not have realized his footage would eventually lead to 7 misdemeanor and 5 felony counts of child abuse among multiple children and families for which Cochran looked after as a caretaker. Victims’ parents broke “into a rage” and had to be removed from the room when the video of the woman carrying kids around by the ankle and covering them with blankets to quiet them was played in court, according to Ohio’s 10TV. "This is the kind of thing that doesn't leave any marks, the kids can't talk, thank God there weren't any apparent injuries, at least not yet," judge David Cain said, while revoking bond and ordering that Cochran be held in jail until sentencing.
Shaking Child

The mother of an Arkansas 1-year-old grew suspicious of 27-year-old Melissa Renee Medema after noticing her little one would “cling to her and cry” whenever the nanny showed up to look after the toddler. A camera revealed Medema shaking the child, which led to an arrest. The nanny was taken to the Benton County Jail and charged with first-degree endangerment of a child.
