Marshmallow and Chocolate-Dipped Nerds Pops

Leftover Halloween candy can be tempting — but it often sits in a bowl or in a cabinet out of reach so the kids don't devour it, and ultimately ends up in the trash. Don’t throw away your leftover Nerds from Halloween, though! Save them in an airtight container and store with your baking supplies in the pantry. Nerds make great decorative sprinkles you can use as an ice cream topping, include it in cupcake batter for a fun surprise, or turn a boring cake into a festive treat.

This time, I decided to use Nerds as the finishing touch to these fun party pops. Make sure you use large marshmallows and candy melts that only take a few minutes to set. The Nerds candy sprinkles will liven up any party dessert table in just a few minutes.

RECIPE: Marshmallow Nerd Pops

Yields 8 pops

Prep time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup Nerds
  • 1/2 cup Wilton chocolate candy melts
  • 8 large marshmallows
  • 4 wooden skewers, cut in half

Instructions

  1. Place Nerds candy in a small saucer. Set aside.
  2. Place candy melts in a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave candy melts for 30 seconds, stir, then microwave 15 seconds more. Carefully remove from microwave and stir melts into a thin frosting consistency.
  3. Immediately dip top portion of marshmallow in chocolate candy melts, then in Nerd candy saucer, making sure top of marshmallow is covered in Nerds. Set aside on a paper plate for 10 minutes to let chocolate candy set. Repeat with remaining marshmallows.
  4. Insert a wooden skewer in the bottom of marshmallow to resemble a lollipop.
  5. Display in a glass cup or a party tray and enjoy.
