A freelance food writer and recipe developer, Gordon caught our eye with her contributions to Apartment Therapy’s The Kitchn. She really got us hooked with her sumptuous food blog, A Sweet Spoonful. In her freetime she runs a small baking business, Marge, where she crafts world-famous (or almost-famous) granolas.

Ashley Rodriguez
This mom of three started her food career as a dessert chef at Spago in Beverly Hills. With the arrival of her first baby Rodriguez handed in her chef's apron and left Los Angeles. She and her husband returned to their hometown of Seattle, where Rodriguez began blogging about food at Not Without Salt. "Life is certainly very different. There is no comparing the two. I appreciate the relaxed environment in our home, but I appreciated the thanks and recognition I got at Spago. My kids are not quick to thank me for roasted vegetables."

Ana Pelaez
A passion for food often starts with the family and for Pelaez it began with her grandparents. "They didn't now how to cook when they came to this country from Cuba so they learned together as adults and it was a big part of how they spent time together." Pelaez now shares that love of food—especially Latin recipes—on her beautifully designed blog, Hungry Sofia.

Melissa Clark
This author of 33 cookbooks also writes about food for The New York Times, Bon Appetit and Martha Stewart Living. You can get a peek into Clark's own kitchen and find out what she's cooking for her gorgeous 3-year-old daughter on her self-titled blog. Does her daughter help in the kitchen? "Dahlia is exceedingly 'helpful' whenever frosting is involved. She also loves helping to make kale chips, which she then devours."
Meredith Steele
"There are so many recipes I wish I had come up with first," says Steele. "Every time I'm in a great restaurant I have to restrain myself from sneaking into the kitchen." This Texas-native and mom of one is a self-trained cook who blogs at In Sock Monkey Slippers where her gorgeous food photography pulls you in just as much as the great recipes.
